Veerasamey Rd Little India. My wife's mother lived here from around the mid 1930's to the late 1940's. Her family was not interned by the Japanese as they were 'locals'. This building was built in1924. It appears to be being renovated but it has been in a similar state for a decade.

Cash or Card? Countries where you still need cash.

You definitely need cash to eat at most of the places we have used in Singapore. Those that have card payment mostly only accept the local NETS card. One did take MasterCard but there would have been a surcharge bigger than in Oz.

Cash or Card? Countries where you still need cash.

In 1976 we had some Travellers Checks stolen when we staying at someones house. The police had arrested and charged the miscreant before we even knew they were missing. His attempts to forge my signature was risible. Replacement ones were issued immediately.

    Last QantasLink 717 service

You have amassed a pretty impressive number of plane types.I have never flown on a VC10 but I think that I would be one of the few on here to have walked closely around Super VC10's parked on the airport apron. And the sound of those 4 Conway jet engines screaming and crackling on take off from...

    Qantas international Economy Class meals

QF71 Per to Sin. The economy meals are about the same as ScootPlus ones. You do get an ice-cream however. Described as Beef Bacon Burgundy. Meat was tender and the mash had no lumps. Tasted fine for what it was. Chicken Kung Pao.My wife said it was nice.

Article: Finnair A319 Business Class Review (KEF-HEL)

Interesting review Matt. I don't think that these short haul meals on Finnair have changed that much. It seems to be of a similar level to what we got flying from Dublin to Helsinki in 2017. There was no warm cinnamon scroll on our flight.

Free stopover costs $600 Sing. Extra

Thanks to both of you I was doing something silly. That should have been obvious. I have never been affected by this sort of thing before but have read plenty of queries from others with similar sorts of questions. A hotel near/at the airport for the night using the lower fare to cover the 16...

Free stopover costs $600 Sing. Extra

I am trying to avoid the 'Australia tax' by flying to Singapore on ScootPlus and then booking a J flight to Paris using Etihad. For example using sample dates of departing Singapore on 7/5/25 and returning from Paris on 5/6/25 I can get a fare of $8,986 SGD for two people in J. The Etihad site...
