Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

I've been sitting on our OWA plan for a few months waiting for LATAM flights to become available in Dec 2019 - initially they hadn't reached their release window, but now they have and I'm still not seeing any award availability via the Qantas multi-city tool. I'm a Gold FF and am looking for...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Having done some more research, our trip plan is looking as follows: MEL-PER-LHR (QF) LHR-MAD (Surface sector) MAD-JFK-YYZ (IB, AA) YYZ-ORD-YYC (AA) YYC-LAX (Surface sector) LAX-SCL-PNT (LAN) PNT-SCL-MEL (LAN) My only issue at this point is that PNT (Puerto Natales) doesn't exist in the Qantas...

Question: Are the US domestic operators able to be used as part of the OWA? E.g. JFK-YYZ (AA operated by Envoy Air). It's listed on the OW search engine here: oneworld Online Timetable

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

I've just ticked over the required 280k points required to do it in Economy, and seeing as we're planning to start the trip in August I think we'll need to go ahead and lock it in sooner rather than later. By August I'll probably have just enough to do it in J, but by that stage it'll be too...

I was fairly sure that was the case. Our issue is that while I'd like to utilise the remaining stopover, we're already right up against the miles limit (~34,000), and adding any further sectors (e.g. even a short hop like EDI-KEF) takes us over the limit.

The last time I checked there were plenty of award seats available on QF9 around the dates we were looking. Note that we're only going in Economy, not Business.

I'm pretty sure it's 4 stopovers (5 if the flight home counts as one)? MEL-PER-LHR (QF) #1 - London, UK & Europe LHR-MAD (Surface sector encompassing UK, Iceland, Scandinavia, Greece, Italy, France and Spain) MAD-JFK-YYZ (IB, AA) or MAD-LHR-YYZ (BA) #2 - Toronto & NE USA YYZ-YVR #3 - Vancouver...

Interesting, maybe it's a dates issue. Thanks for checking. We've canned the idea of doing Greece first up, so our draft itinerary is looking a bit different: MEL-PER-LHR (QF) LHR-MAD (Surface sector encompassing UK, Iceland, Scandinavia, Greece, Italy, France and Spain) MAD-JFK-YYZ (IB, AA) or...

Yeah that shows the same two options I posted earlier. Looks like a very useful tool though - thanks for sharing!

Understood, thanks for clarifying. So if I want to get from MEL-ATH as part of my OWA, it looks like my only other options are: MEL-LHR-ATH (QF, BA), or MEL-DOH-ATH (QR) Except neither of these show on the Qantas multi-city tool - does that mean I'll have to use the call center to include them...

Not even if it's a QF flight? The T&C's above imply that you can't even access Classic Rewards seats on a code-share flight, but when I searched on the Qantas site it shows Classic Rewards availability for that example flight (QF8409)?

Quick question about the following T&Cs: "Classic Flight Rewards are not available on Codeshare Flights unless otherwise specified by Qantas Loyalty. Classic Flight Rewards must be booked using the airline code (eg QF for Qantas) of the Operating Carrier unless otherwise specified by Qantas...

How would that work with the OWA requirement to start/end at the same port? And I'd assume that would negate most of the value of doing the OWA on points (the direct flights purchased on points separately would be a significant points hit).

Question - if I book the overall OWA trip in Economy, am I able to use points to upgrade to Business on the Qantas flights at either end of the trip?

My wife and I are in the early stages of planning a 4-5 month trip starting next July using the Qantas OneWorld Award; I've just ticked over 280k points (we'll be going in Economy) and are now starting to look at potential itineraries. I've read through the wiki and a few other key articles...

    Vinomofo Wine Deals

My fiance (now wife) and I had the Sidewood Shiraz 2013 at Maximilian’s Restaurant in SA last year, and I swear it was like drinking liquid flowers. Never before had I smelt or tasted such a perfumed red wine - it was very different but in a good way. The restaurant is a cracker - one of our...
