I remember reading elsewhere on this forum that there were issues with Amex sending out the Platinum Reserve application, or rather, with members actually receiving them in the mail. I was expecting it on Monday and it still hasn't arrived.

Ah alright. More concerned about having an additional check on my credit file, as I'm planning on refinancing (and also half tempted to get the NAB Velocity Premium for an easy 60,000 Feb next year).

UDPATE: 1. Got my card this week and put $500 on it; got 120,000 points the next day, despite declaring that I'm an existing Amex cardholder during application 2. My Plat Reserve application is on its way to me. (Does anyone know if this will invoke another credit check?)

Re: Amex "I'm going to cancel my card" bonus given thread. I've been unsuccessful with the Edge, and they cite the free flight as the reason. Let's see how I fare next year with the Plat Charge.

Assuming you've been timely with payments, a longer credit history means a better credit score. Having it as the correct date gives me assurance that Amex have the records right.

I started with the Plat Moneyback in 2009, then got the Plat Edge when it was released as they had discontinued the Moneyback. Can't recall what year that was... Did you try to get them to revert your date?
