Does anyone know if you need to retain your AUS Amex after acquiring a US amex via GT? I.e do you access your US Amex online via the same login and do you lose access if you close your AUS Amex for example..

They also asked for address verification. She has a HSBC USA premier account so we may have a chance...

Would this card be a good card for my initial US credit card, considering the following: 1. I am already a HSBC US premier customer. 2. I don't currently have an Amex Aus to do a GT. 3. I have no US credit history. 4. I do have a SSN. 5. This will start building my credit profile in usa?

I assume for this HSBC card, you require a credit history I.e. it's not similar to a Amex GT application?

Yeah this is what we seen and we clicked yes. I also note that you are correct. I have tried probably 10-20 times to go through the method that @DC3 describes and the personal cards page will not load. I think I will get my wife to call again and find out if the application is a GT one..
