My last QF24 in J was absolutely awful.
- Surly crew
- Barked at when asked if I filled in my breakfast card
- Asked for just a drink as I’ll skip the meal to be told “You’ll get your drink when the food comes!”
- No interaction other than asking my husband “Is it hot because other pax are...
Nothing is as predictable as it was pre Covid. The ME3 and BA used to offer seats set times closer to departure but this is no longer a rule.
Conversely, QF was not known to release seats closer to departure, however this appears to be more common, especially for routes like QF11/12 where a...
Yes, it’s not as it used to be.
Used it for the first time in April after a few years. Booked online and walked straight past the desk to go up the escalators through security. They staff yelled out to me that I had to “check in.”
I was confused because I’d booked online and I’m used to them...
This is what Fiji say. All of it is false (though, remember they have been trained this way so they are instructed to only do one request at a time).
The best approach is to be flexible and request +- 3 days of when you want to fly.
We flew with Rimowa Cabins and a duffel each into LCY on an E190. Main thing to note is Row 1 and 2 have no overhead storage so you want to board first which is difficult if it’s a bus transfer as priority boarding loses any meaning once you’re on the bus.
This is odd. I cancelled QF11 F, booked a new route to the EU on EK F then rerouted again.
Both times QF HBA advised that they ticket EK, CX and others immediately to meet the ticketing deadline. I was told that the points would be “logged” and not to worry.
For the first flight I specifically...
Amazes me when people offer an option with no direct experience.
The seat is not uncomfortable. SQ added a collapsable Ottoman that the crew deliver on request because there is no footrest.
The bed is on the firmer side as one would expect on an Asian carrier.
The crew are extremely proactive...
SQ F, no question.
The service and suite are exceptional. The BTC options are numerous and the several course menus do not remotely compare to QF. The staff anticipate absolutely everything.
IMHO, QF is my second least favourite F after BA.
No. I'm so glad I ditched my QF11 F for EK F with an abundance of food, Dom P2 and feeling full after the flight with several meals.
That's not even to mention the significantly better hard product.
You are only allowed to request awards for family members. All agents ask what the relationship is to the WP or P1’s account holder is.
While it is an upublished benefit, the rules for redemptions are the same as the drop down box when booking awards for others.
Requesting for colleagues is a...
Downgrades are performed in order of status and fare class. SG on J, I would have though was pretty high up, but perhaps the other at least one of the other couples were WP?
Qatar can officially be booked using QFF.
There does appear to be a restriction on routes (mostly anything that is to or from Australia) and number of seats (generally you will only find one.
Possibly, go where most premium cabins are flying full. Keep checking.
EK track connections and they’ll know whether you’ll make it and either accept you or reaccommodate you, but if F is full on later flights you may be downgraded or have to wait for a later flight.
I've flown EY Apartments SYD-AUH-JFK for $12k return when QF wanted $21k for SYD-LAX-JFK on QF/AA. I even booked a side trip to CAI and it was still cheaper.
