    With the ‘20s in the wild, it was timely to try a ‘19 Kumeu. Very good drinking. Great acid line. Will age nicely. Also, a well made Grampians Shiraz as part of a mixed Jackson Brooke case.

    It is nice to see Nicks give a fair bit of transparency into their ratings. The full breakdown can be seen on every wine listing page (never noticed it before). The number can still be reverse engineered but at least there is a theoretical science behind it all...

    For those who placed orders with TWC: 2016 Chanson Pere et Fils Beaune 1er cru Clos des Marconnets is on it way. If anyone is opening a bottle upon receiving I'll be keen to hear how it is drinking. Some of the reviews have inferred austerity in it's youth.

    - Probably more lower supply driving the clean out of stock. Lamella especially is notoriously difficult to buy at retail. - 12 months of more word of mouth - 12 months closer to the day you look back and say "remember when the Standish wines were only ~$100"
