ANZ Amex card now with Chip & Pin and Contactless

My mum is having this same issue with her ANZ Amex Chip Card. She has used it at Coles, Woolies, Suzanne etc. Not once has she been able to use a pin successfully at all those places. She received the chip cards very recently. The paywave on the Amex seems to work at Coles and Woolies but not...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

@moopere i cannot agree more. All the time I walked into a restaurant thinking they accept Amex with no surcharge because they hang all the lovely stickers and door hangers on their door.

Double points only at hotel restaurants?

It is not really a solution with what I have suggested, but I regularly give them feedback on this because in someways it is misleading to not be awarded 3 points.

Double points only at hotel restaurants?

I regularly call Amex on behalf of my Dad to fix this issue over the phone and they take down my feedback and have me credited points for the inconvenience. It is really unfair and disappointing to be awarded only double points when having high tea at a hotel restaurant or even awarded at 1...

    New Citibank Terms & Conditions

These new terms and conditions look similar to ANZ bank's credit card terms. The awarding of points is up to the discretion of the bank. You might be lucky and still be awarded points for insurance premiums and ATO payments.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

No luck when I rang them. All I can say is its disappointing with AGL's outsourced contact centre.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Very interesting. Any news from Vic Road? You might want to ring them to find out if you can do a postbillpay because the codes are on one of your old statement.

    Changes to FF Redeem rate

Unfortunately Platinum is affected. The earn rate on Commbank Platinum is 1.25 QFF points on Amex effective from 1st October 2013. The only card not affected yet is Diamond. I think this new earn rate is very rubbish. Good thing i canned my Gold card. The new earn rate (effective from 1st of...

    Skywards miles

ditto to what scwappy is saying. Amex issued cards that are directly issued by Amex can transfer points to Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) and from there you can transfer to Skyward Miles. Every 1000 points convert to 500 star points with SPG. From SPG you can transfer to Skyward Miles at...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Thank you for your reply. Hmmm very strange indeed. Could be for your situation. The asterisks sentence has the keyword fee "may" apply. I will need to draw it to their attention that I don't want that fee tyvm. I will phone them on Monday and see what happens from there.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

You are very lucky. My council slaps on a 1% surcharge for all card types for the Rates Notice. Parking fines are an exception in my council. No surcharge lol. You probably don't want your fine any higher haha.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

I'm not sure which state your AGL bill is issued in, but in NSW they started to add this line into my statement: Other Charges - Merchant Service Fee. I've never paid this fee before when using a credit card. I've started noticing this fee... :( I hope my attached pictures worked.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

There's definitely a surcharge if you pay with credit card or paypal funded by credit card. I've just started noticing it on my bills. If they skipped charging you. You are probably lucky this time or it might appear in the next bill as two entries.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

@wxxnxs @buzzard You will find that there are many many merchants that you can pay with using paypal with no surcharge and Telstra is certainly one of them. It is strange that Telstra would slap on a 1% surcharge for paying direct with a credit card, however if you use paypal instead to pay...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Let me explain. I just don't like being slapped a surcharge without my knowledge. Especially when it's hidden in fine print at the bottom of the statement. Another reason why it got me so angry is that Paypal is always marketed as being Surcharge free. Especially when you pay Telstra with...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

You dont log into AGL for this one. You go to postbillpay.com.au use the postbillpay code for AGL and customer reference number. These details appear at the bottom of your statement. Postbillpay is Australia Post's online website for paying bills that you can normally pay in the branch. Credit...

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Yes you get points on your Amex when you use paypal. I checked with AGL and so in answering my question, they have always slapped on a surcharge for using debit or credit cards. They said they surcharge for paypal if the source of the funds come from credit cards :( very very unfair.

    AMEX not accepted or surcharge

Ok I have some bad news to bear. I have always paid by AGL Gas and Electricity bills via paypal. Since changing my primary card to Amex in my paypal account, I've started noticing a credit card surcharge on my following quarters bill. It shows up on the last page of the bill as Other account...

Availability of statements with individual Awards transactions?

I don't think you need to check on the individual points per transaction for Commbank Credit Cards because you receive points based on your total purchases for the statement period. They show you the total spent on mastercard, amex and with their bonus partners during the statement period. Their...
