QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Sadly I only seem to get the new, very green agents whenever I'm connected to AKL. I've even suffered a few of the dreaded disconnections whenever I've asked for something slightly complicated. It always frustrates me that even though they know who I am and have my contact details, they never...

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Similar experience a couple of weeks ago. it was an absolute palaver to even get the seats released in the first place as I kept getting the Fiji and Auckland centres which do not seem to have access to the bot. Eventually succeeded with a Cape Town agent, but she erroneously charged the 4,500...

    Qantas fleet rebuild piece

Alan likes to remind us that he is a genius, but let's see how history judges his decision to delay replacing the fleet when he could (or should?) have done so in a non-inflationary environment with low interest rates, minimal supply chain problems and a stronger AUD. Let alone plentiful...

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

I'm a mere WP, but whenever the above happens, denoted with "on request" it's usually the result of me getting someone in the Auckland, Fiji or South Africa call centres. Invariably these requests are never successful. I had an experience with the above last week, then I hit the jackpot with a...

Best lounge in Melbourne for an SQ F flight?

I actually think The House lounge probably suits your requirements best (just double check that it will be open for your departure as their opening hours seem to be all over the place). I rate it as the third nicest lounge at Melbourne Airport after the QF F and EK lounges. The SQ F lounge is...

Did anyone ever fly on the Qantas 767-300ER with the split first/business class up front?

Thanks for your research and for going to the effort to post this here. I for one love these pieces of nostalgia, so it's very much appreciated and enjoyed. This config, on the other hand, looks like something only an Australian public servant could dream up.

Yeah not sure about that…🤐 I’ve sent plenty of feedback on the wine in the last year.

Sadly the Piper Rare is still not back. I suspect we may have seen the end of it as all lounges now serve Taittinger in various forms.

If the name above hasn’t been screened, and it is who I think it is, it is a well-known Perth mining executive who is CL. I see him often on SYD-PER.

Supply has been quite unreliable in the last year and I have a hunch that it seems to disappear whenever Singapore school holidays are on… T3 F is currently serving Taittinger Prelude. Things are actually better in T2 F where it’s Taittinger Millesime 2015. And for my fellow Chardonnay...

Article: Single-Aisle Planes Are the Future of Qantas' Fleet

There's a bit of smoke and mirrors in QF's fleet planning. They do like to talk about the huge headline order of 299 Airbus narrowbodies, but the reality is that more than a decade after the original A321neo order was placed, they've still only received a handful of them. They also have very few...

I asked SQ HQ about this again last week. No time soon is what I've again been told. I understand there is geopolitical hesitance in both countries.

Your ability to generate points is clearly very impressive @Cruiser Elite! You'll need to run a master class for those of us here on the SQ forum who are obviously doing it wrong.

Slightly odd crew SYD - PER

In my view the reality of RSA enforcement is a mix of art and science. A skilled crew will manage to handle this ably - and with discretion. That a fellow passenger noticed this lack of discretion suggests this could have been handled better, especially as there's no report of the passenger in...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

It's been like this for quite a few years now out of Australia but your inference about cost is probably correct. Even in F/R on the afternoon flights out of SYD, the second meal is usually a choice of something like a sandwich or congee. MEL is usually (slightly) better. I think on my last...

Qantas to reopen the Hong Kong Lounge

Not having been to HK since 2019, I actually assumed The Deck had taken over the QF space, but obviously not. Good news as this was always a great lounge. They must really be getting an incredible discount on their lease renewal or they're very dissatisfied indeed with what CX is charging them.

The rear cabins on the 380 actually operate with a different crew and from the rear galley rather than the main forward galley where the majority of J seats are located. If anything, I find the service slightly faster and more personalised in the rear as it's a bit less of an assembly line.

789/388 Broken Business Suites Rife - PAX Involuntary moved

It seems to be a part of QF's wider maintenance problem with its widebody fleet. Perhaps closing their own maintenance facilities, cutting the engineering workforce to the bone and continuing to draw down the inventory of spare parts wasn't such a good idea after all. If they are now having to...
