Anything that goes through AP will be government spend and as far a I can see plat edge and explorer all pay 0.5/dollar It's really only good if you don't have a MC or VISA that earns more then 0.5 equivalent airlines points/$ A decent points hound should have a backup card though :-)

Ok so tested paying utility bill. Bill says MC or VISA only. Insert amex - get rejection TAP amex - works fine Owner told me this should work for any type of payment if you tap amex it will work - only good if no backup VISA or MC and can't postbillpay via paypal

That's what happened with me. It was a verifone terminal if that helps. It only paid 0.5amex PPD. If I use my coles MC, with the 20% bonus. I get 1 velocity PPD So for me, I would still use my MC. It is good for people with no VISA or MC back up and only amex though. I am going to try it...

Don’t ask me . All I know is that when we insert Amex card if the payment doesn’t accept Amex like asic it doesn’t work . When we tap it worked .

That is a good point. I guess maybe some people won't have paypal to link and pay via postbillpay online. Also, some bills don't work via postbillpay like my ASIC fees.

AP only paid 0.5 PPD at the termial using AMEX explorer. Good for people without a backup MC or VISA earning points. Trick is to tap the amex card not insert and it works.

Ahh ok - I think i got it So paying anything via AP is going to be 0.5PPD Explorer is 0.5 PPD for government bodies even via paypal (if they have flagged it right) So utilities and telecoms via paypal via explorer is still 2PPD
