This is the card that I keep open, too. I've had it for several years and the credit limit on it is only $3,000, so it doesn't interfere too much with applying for other cards. I do use it when travelling overseas due to no forex fees and the ability to earn QF points.

It was probably an acceptance or test flight, where they test that a bunch of things with the plane are working correctly.

Those credit card holders may well be more profitable for the Virgin Australia Group than people who fly a few times per year and get status through family pooling, flybuys etc.

BNE-MEL-DRW in J is decent value at ~$724 for 185 status credits.

Looks like the new & improved fares haven't made it onto all routes. This is the Perth-Kalgoorlie pricing as of now.

If the restaurant is able to fit an extra person onto the booking (or someone else can't make it) then it wouldn't be a problem. I'll call the restaurant tomorrow and ask.
