Hi team, Just booked United economy 3 pax return Madrid-NYC for March. Obviously no alignment, but they are a Singapore Airlines partner. I think best action is to create Singapore KrisFlyer accounts, then move points (presume I can't move status credits) across to Virgin from there? Any advice...

OK - this works INCREDIBLY well for me! I will likely book - I am Platinum with Virgin Australia - can anyone advise best program to allocate this trip to? Would love status with another carrier now I'm based in EU!

I concur with statements above that this system is slower than the old manual way. The 3-4 times I've done it while the wait to begin hasn't been awful, they've only had one open carousel for priority and one for regular guests - get an air crew through and all of a sudden priority is slower.

Hah - yes, I have been to the lounge at MAD Terminal 1 and was less than impressed compared to what we are used to in Australia. We have flown Iberia, Vueling, AirFrance, BA, Easyjet and I'm sure others and they have all been on par with Jetstar or Virgin really. Big bus in the sky.... Thanks...

Thanks for the tips @cove! I have quite a few music industry colleagues here, and most weeks friends are touring through here, so we are going OK so far! Yes, low cost seem to be the way forward here - though I miss my free coffees and champagnes in the Virgin lounges!
