I mostly travel HLO but when travelling with more I've had a pretty good run with priority luggage. Probably 8/10 times it's in the first quarter or so of bags to come out. Occasionally in the middle. I've never had a total clanger where it's come out at the end.

Are you with Telstra Ewing? AFAIK it actually depends what carrier you're with. 13*** and 1800****** are free with Telstra but as they are Telstra operated they charge more to everyone else who generally pass that on to the customer.

From memory TK will only match "top tier" in a rival program. So If you have gold through Air Berlin SM they most likely won't but if you have earned a higher status they probably should.

I thought both hobart and Darwin are waiting on the airport to make space available? I saw signs up for reconfiguration of ther terminal when I was last in HBA and I assumed VA needed that to happen first? Would be good to get an official word though.

Simlar problem here. I flew with my son (who is pooling to me) weekend before last and my points and SCs credited and his didn't. I have put in a retro claim for his earlier this week but nothing has happened (yet). It appears there is a system glitch for poolers travelling together.

I took advantage of this last year. Quite a handy program because they allow access to both QF and VA lounges domestically!

I had a situation where my flight on VA PER to MEL in J (it was a free upgrade using my Plat upgrade) was delayed several hours. VA booked me on a QF flight in J without so much as asking. Certainly didn't expect me to pay,and I managed to snag full QF status credits to boot.

He's also responsible for a lot of the stories that talk up qantas. Every time I see a headline talking them up I play "guess if it's Geoffrey Thomas" ... He's kind of the anti Ben Sandilands who tends to cut Qantas no slack. Thomas has never seen something qantas did that he didn't like. :)
