VA transfer to SQ 1.35:1 VA

... The end of November? Look we are all keen to know more but the key point is that we already have the date. It hasn't happened yet. Until it does or doesn't this is all our own self referential speculation.

VA transfer to SQ 1.35:1 VA

The subject of the thread? This thread is weird. Let me see if i have gotten it straight. VA and SQ announce a points transfer partnership that will commence in November. The rate of exchange is not announced. People assume the fact that it hasn't been announced means it hasn't been...

VA transfer to SQ 1.35:1 VA

Which bit of "November" is ambiguous? When i tell someone i will do something next week I mean by friday, not by monday. If i meant monday i would have said monday. By my count VA and SQ are still 19 days ahead of their deadline. They don't have any obligation to announce anything further or...

Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

That reminds me that Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy and a small gaggle of kids were on our MEL-AUH flight on EY mid last year. All in Y as we were we.

Pulled off Flight and still 15min to go:(

Personally, I have never missed a flight but it is my policy to remain in the lounge until the flight is indicated as boarding. This can be done either by the boarding calls, the information displays, or looking out at the passengers getting on. The problem with this is that VAs signage and...

Yanks still have difficulty recognising Australia.

Oh... I read several other reports of this. None of them got the country wrong!

Yanks still have difficulty recognising Australia.

FWIW although he is naturalised Aussie, Brian Schmidt was born in America (hence the Grandmother) and still speaks with an American accent. I can't imagine this has anything to do with him being an Aussie.

VA takes 100% of Tiger Australia

Re: Virgin Owns Tiger 100% On that particular one: JQ are Tiger are both moving to the same terminal in Melbourne (the new T4) when it is completed next year. From then on i think JQ and TT will be using the same terminals in most cities?

VA takes 100% of Tiger Australia

Jetstar will beat this by 10% right? This means i can buy 40% of Jetstar for 90c?

    Falling out of love?

So THIS is your comparison with passengers on a VA flight?

    Falling out of love?

I'm gonna have to go with "Sad" ... any other term i use to describe this line of thinking won't pass the moderator test.

    Falling out of love?

I *hope* the post isn't serious.

    Fly Ahead - love it

Maybe because 'Fly Ahead' is, according to the rules, a benefit ONLY available in the lounge:

    Falling out of love?

I can't say i was ever "in love" with VA but i do mainly fly them. They suit my needs. I'm looking for transport not a life partner.

Time taken to assess requalification status and send new card

Reporting back on my own situation. leaving for the US in nine days and website still shows under review. Messaged the Velocity Rep and have been provided with a letter (which i appreciate) to show the DL lounge people but been advised not to expect the card until i leave. It's really not a...

Pricing - Data point VA vrs QF

Not sure what it proves except that at some times of the day Qantas is cheaper than Virgin. Back of the envelops says Virgin's pricing on the route on average is cheaper than Qantas but at the times you specifically want to travel Qantas is cheaper. So... book qantas but i don't think it...

    Virgin Australia A320's?

No. They have a whole stack of 737MAX's on order. A sign of a lazy graphic design/ marketing team more likely.
