EMIRATES Lounges in Oz - Current Status

According to Emirates' latest flight schedules, the 6am departure out of Sydney will resume on 2 March. I wonder if the EK lounge will re-open by then, or whether they will make arrangements with Qantas or another lounge operator (on the days that QF67 isn't operating), or whether there will be...

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Hope that gets sorted for you, but stories like that is why I'm afraid to call up and get it changed, although it seems like a few ppl have had better luck

Booking AA Transcon Business Flagship award w/ QFF

I'm not sure what availability is like these days, but back in late 2019 I managed to book JFK-SFO as part of my RTW trip in late 2020 which obviously never happened. When I was researching the flights, there was very limited availability in J on direct JFK to SFO/LAX flights. The only slots...

Simplest way to get to Zurich and back

Depends on your criteria for simplicity vs the least risk of contracting covid. As mentioned above, covid testing could be an issue. Based on current requirements, flying via SIN requires a covid test prior to the flight. Flying via DOH or DXB doesn't (on the outbound leg anyway), as far as...

    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Up until now that has been the case, but if you check PineappleSkip's link a few posts up, it will be changing on 15 March 2022. See Changes to your Card Insurance | American Express AU As far as I can tell, for my card (Qantas Ultimate), although the majority of the covid coverage looks...

    Travel Insurance which covers COVID-19?

Thanks for this, I may be able to cancel the insurance policy which I bought separately (it is still within the 14 day cooling off period) and instead rely on the free insurance provided by Amex. A quick glance at the T&Cs looks good but I will need to check it more closely.

Testing requirements SYD - DXB - ZRH?

No actual experience with this but that was my understanding also when I booked my SYD-ZRH flights back in November. No tests required to leave Aus, no tests required to board EK flights, no testing required for DXB transit, and no testing required for entry to Switzerland from Australia.

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Similarly, nothing has changed for me. Last week, F on EK85 was available so I could have kept the EK415 flight at 6am, arriving in DXB at 13:20 and then onto EK85 departing at 15:35. But then part of me thought what if Emirates changes their flight schedules again and the 2nd daily flight...

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Well, looks like there's a few options for me 1. Spend roughly 19 hours at DXB airport / exploring and resting in the Emirates first lounge 2. Change to an earlier flight for the DXB - ZRH leg, but as there's no availability in F on that flight, it would need to be downgraded to J (which I...

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

It sounds like your flight was booked directly with emirates (through the travel agent)? I'm trying to ring up qantas now but looking at other threads in the qantas forum, I don't have much hope that this will be resolved for me as I'm booked through qantas points and there's no availability...

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Thanks, I'll give qantas a ring and see if they can sort it out. I'll try to avoid using Dubai Connect even if this option is available as this would mean having to enter the UAE which may cause issues when entering Europe (different testing requirements etc). But it's good to know that for...

EK415 timing change [15 hours earlier]

Hi all, I had booked a trip to Europe in late March with qantas points, flying SYD-DXB-ZRH outbound on Emirates. The return leg was booked separately and is not affected by the change below. At the time of the booking, EK415 was scheduled to depart Sydney at 9.45pm, arriving at DXB at 5.15am...

Classic reward booking on one ticket vs two

Thanks for the input everyone. I currently have SYD-DXB-ZRH booked and need to book a return leg which I may want to change in the future as there are currently no reward seats available on my ideal dates. Sounds like it will be much easier to change that return leg if they're on separate...

Classic reward booking on one ticket vs two

Thanks, it is an international booking - I assume the taxes/fees being charged in AUD would be equivalent to the foreign currency apart from any credit card fees. Would changing 1 leg of the trip be easier on separate bookings or would it make no difference? With 2 separate bookings I can just...

Classic reward booking on one ticket vs two

I was hoping to get an answer in the thread about free changes and cancellations to classic reward bookings but was unable to do so. Given the free cancellation/changes policy on reward bookings, is there any advantage or disadvantage in booking a return trip as two separate bookings rather...

Qantas to allow free changes, cancellations to Classic Flight Reward bookings to 30 September 2022

Given the free changes and cancellations at the moment, is there any down side to booking a return trip as 2 separate bookings/tickets? Would 2 separate bookings make it easier if I wanted to change one of the legs (date, airline, destination), or would it be the same process if I was to edit my...

EK award availability to/from Australia this Nov/Dec onwards

I managed to book SYD-DXB-ZRH in F in late March, although there was also availability for other European cities such as FRA. Hoping that SYD-DXB will be an A380 as their flight schedules are only updated until around late March and anything after that is still showing up as a 777.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

an alternative is to leave from somewhere other than ZRH as that is adding extra miles, or buying your own flight to MAD. e.g MXP-MAD-EZE is 135 miles less than leaving from ZRH and will bring you under 35k

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

from my previous RTW search, it's hard to find J availability from Europe to the US unless flying out of London with BA for one person let alone 4. AA from cdg/mad/bcn are non existant and IB availability isn't much better So it comes down to whether you want to only stopover in London to...

Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates

I flew to HKG over the christmas period, initially had 35K selected for both legs - paid for with cash. SYD-HKG leg was changed to a refurbed plane and they automatically changed my seat to another exit row, 66. HKG-SYD was unrefurbed but my seat selection was also not changed. The seat itself...
