Cheap flights coming? - China’s back

I received an email from Flybuys today regarding Singapore Airlines early bird sale to Europe from mid-January 2025 until mid-September 2025. From $2110pp. Seriously? Is this an early bird sale? I thought airfares were coming down.

    Westpac Denied

Looks legitimate. I do not click on links from banks as a general rule. The SMS does have links but they advice to visit the website. They also mention they need updated ID and I did this last month. As per what @Dmac59 posted above the ATO knows how much I earn from my employer and also the...

Theft in lounges - how frequent?

Sorry to hear this has happened to you. I don't trust anyone. For many years I travelled alone all over SE Asia and never gave an opportunistic thief a chance. Now we travel together and we make sure someone is always there with the belongings. Note in shopping centres I take shopping trolley...

You are a much better mother than I am a father. Little one turns 8 tomorrow. What a journey we've had and hope many years more.

    Westpac Denied

I've been reading some threads online regarding this request. Sounds like Westpac send similar SMS around 2 years ago. Related to "Know Your Customer" or anti money laundering laws. Considering there aren't big funds going in and out of this credit card then Westpac may have been pinged for not...

    Westpac Denied

They knew how much I earned when I applied. I owe them money on credit card and I've never missed a payment. I've paid them a cough load of interest. No, they do not need to know how much I earn now as it's irrelevant.

Thanks. I've had Latitude/28 degrees send me OTP to verify a £1 transaction yet nothing for this transaction. We talk about 2FA everywhere but Latitude has allowed a transaction close to $500 slip right through.

Not having much luck. Noticed a $489.41 charge on my 28 Degrees from Jetstar and it includes booking reference. Called Jetstar to confirm booking is not in my name and called Latitude to report the fraudulent transaction. Note my email address on the 28 Degrees credit card has not been...

Something strange going on with Westpac and other banks. Received SMS today from Westpac I don't remember a previous notification so not sure how this is a reminder. Also how is updating my income details going to keep my account safe? I've not applied for any credit products in at least 5...

    General Medical issues thread

I've been on Somac/Pantoprazole for a long time. Wife on Somac/Pantoprazole for some time and now trying Rabeprazole. Parents/brother on Somac/Nexium for a long time. Me personally, I'd be struggling without this medication as I have chronic reflux issues. These class actions are just ridiculous.

Pork scotch fillet. My experiment with fried mashed potato and chopped brown onion. It may not look good but I can assure you that it tasted great.

Something happened last night and I just can't get it off my mind. Went to Aussie World. As we were leaving around 8:30pm daughter wanted fairy floss. The cart was there on the way out. Around 12-15 people in queue, maybe more. So daughter goes in queue and wife and I sitting down near the...

    What cheeses me off

Took daughter to school and wife to work this morning and came back home at 9:00am to start working. No internet. I just checked email at 8:50am before coming upstairs. I think internet came back around 10:30am so I'd lost 90 minutes of work time and I couldn't do anything else. Check Optus...

    What cheeses me off

Way too many obsessions that seem to control people's lives. I've done a few of them. Smoking, pokies, coffee, wine tasting, food etc. Had a piece of blade steak and asked wife to help out cooking Thai red curry last night and Masaman this morning. Both beautiful taste. Thai red curry, Thai...

☕ What's your definition of "good" coffee?

Or the $1 coffee at Coles Express that is free on Fridays with purchase of fuel. I don't drink coffee and I don't understand this obsession with designer coffee. I don't understand the number of people lined up to get their fix. My 7 year old daughter likes to drink coffee. I don't know where...

What I ate today - the food thread

Taste is in the mouth of the beholder but this creation for dinner earlier gave me great satisfaction. Chuck steak sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cheese, BBQ sauce, mustard and I forgot the onion. Delicious.
