CX pilot caught DUI in Sydney airport causing delay - 24/07/2024 - CX 110

How would this have been discovered? Random testing? Pilot inebriated and flagged by colleague or airport staff?

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

20% cashback at BWS with Shopback, capped at $20. Wolf Blass grey label shiraz at $25pb, less 10% Everyday Rewards for 6-packs, less $20 Shopback = $115, or $19.2pb. Note that my order during the last Shopback promotion did not track, and I am still fighting to get the cashback paid out.

AMEX Application Process Failures + Contact

I can't remember specifics, but I recall that AFCA cannot get involved where you are simply unhappy with the decision made, so I focussed my argument on the fact that they had insufficient data to make a decision in the first place, and that AMEX had not followed their own practices by basing...

Wasn’t this closer to $80 on Langtons a few months ago?

Is there such a thing as earning points for free?

How is that any different than booking through an OTA? Same risk of data breaches. There is no incremental risk.

Is there such a thing as earning points for free?

I just received 250 QFF points as a QBR flyer bonus from a recent work trip. Didn't cost me a cent. I received 43 QFF points from Uber on a ride to the airport. Also didn't cost me a cent.

That's the one, thank you! Not sure why I thought it was an email.

    Qantas Wine latest offering

From memory someone recently shared an email address for a contact at Qantas Wine who sends out periodic offers, but I can't for the life of me find it - would someone be able to PM it to me?

I had the tomato soup the other day, surprisingly good (coming from someone who generally isn't a fan of tomato soup).

I find their prices totally outrageous, often somehow higher than retail. E.g. Wynns Black Label cabernet 2021 - they have it at $48 vs $45 direct from Wynns. Many others with the same logic - Yalumba Signature, Keyneton Euphonium etc.

Whats the best bang for $ whiskey?

Agree with this - I picked up 2 bottles of Glenlivet 18yo in a random store in Kyoto for $60 per bottle. Runs at $200+ here in Aus.

    Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Interestingly I had my first year comp'd through the AMEX Platinum, and then never received any communication regarding my renewal (having cancelled the AMEX), but have still maintained my A+ membership.

    General Medical issues thread

Well I went to the ED and the good news is that after an ECG and chest xray I'm not having a heart attack. Sent home and told to take paracetamol and ibuprofen and check-in with the GP if no improvement. I'll be honest, I'm not sure I can go through the stress, pain and uncertainty of this...

    General Medical issues thread

I've been getting my chest tightness again for the last few days, hoping it's not a return of the pericarditis from a few years ago. Contemplating running up to the hospital to get the tests done instead of waiting for my cardiologist.
