Going to be similar to the CBA Ultimate Awards card now, but no need to call up for a pro-rata fee refund after getting the bonus. 120k rewards points (60k Velocity or 40k Asia miles/Krisflyer) for only $24-48 doesn't sound too bad at all. Or spend $5000 for 'free' bonus points after 1 month...

Hyatt no doubt is the best hotel program worldwide but not easy for an Aussie to collect points unless you have Chase cards. Not much mid-scale options here in Australia to earn nights on the cheap. Decided it is in the too hard basket :(

Probably going for the Qantas Points option of this as a last resort but it does look like it will be a bigger hit to the credit file compared to say a credit card.

Should be able to use it at the restaurant, gets coded up as Hilton transaction.

F1 in Melbourne next week, seen that before. HH points the only option really given the room rate. 50k for the Doubletree, 65k points for the Curio.

I do notice that as a taster they give you a great upgrade on your first stay even as a regular IHG member. Don't know if this holds for overseas hotels though.

Really was a matter of time, the $129 annual fee with the $129 voucher + lots of bonus points sounded too good to be true. Could easily stick a lite fare return for one during a sale period.

Yeah usually a 24-28 hour callback period but it could go either way from there. Asked for my address and thankfully the US WISE statement was enough. From recent DPs tho they havent accepted it. Once you get your first US card with Amex though it has been extremely easy since.

Definitely has to be one of those Velocity exclusive cards, I assume they want to block out cards with manual transfers otherwise it would be too easy (e.g. 2000 Rewards points = 1000 Velocity points) and everyone with a rewards CC would be onboard for an easy 30k.

Only short trips to Melbourne or Brisbane this time around, any overseas plans would have needed to be done well in advance. Was thinking of Queenstown as well but didn't have time to discuss it with others.

Necrobumping this one and looking at the conditions closely the Platinum Status Challenge with Krisflyer does beat the usual one (10 nights in 6 months vs 16 nights in just less than 4 months). Ofc MB Platinum is where we really start to feel the benefits (Gold is very easy to get these days)...

Looked a bit on the older side but service and Diamond recognition was top notch. Could make a whole dinner in the executive lounge as well. Still, hoping the HGI would be good fill-in in the meantime

Took about 2 years between the 2nd and 3rd GT, granted also I did request a retention offer on the Hilton Aspire which might have affected the time in PUJ.

LATAM was the biggest exit, some of their flights are still QF coded but for smaller South American countries it is only LA codes. Can still earn some QF points but not status credits on LA codes...
