Thanks, i did manage to sift through and eventually found one that worked :) I've posted my experience on this one last year as i opened the 2014 for myself, very much enjoyed it, just used a code to buy another 6 pack just then for the VIM offer. Some others mentioned the 2010 or 2012 was...

I did earlier ^, i'd been looking out for it for a long while as it was on my radar to try as a potentially good wine at good discounts. For under 50$ its a great pickup imo

I've had the ata rangi many moons ago - i believe this is the "good" ata rangi, ie, low allocation stock due to small volumes every year. It's a very nice wine, just pricey.. definitely a nice pickup on the vm sale if anyone got one.

Honestly i'd have to agree, i wasn't planning on opening any, but after seeing all the posts about it, how could i not? Now the big test, for all the fellow 2018 grangers, who's willing to pop theirs open to confirm if there is a "VM" grange difference too? :)

Agreed, that was the reasoning behind my purchase of it. I usually check out any independent reviews of a wine, and sharktooth also follows up with decent cellartracker notes / scoring. Vivino as well. Just particularly lacking notes or scores for the 2016 vintage online, so I based my purchase...

Sharktooth 2016, the only thing i've ever been tempted to send back. I have heard that some wines go through a "dormant" period, i'm almost tempted to keep this around for another 10 or 15 years just to see what happens to it.

Well. I've finished my serafino. I opened it early on Wednesday and poured myself a glass. Another big glass on Thursday. And the last glass today on Saturday. Day 1: I'd describe this as extremely acidic, similar to those types of "green" wines that had their grapes picked too early, and you...

I've never felt so peer pressured into opening mine and seeing if i got a goodie or a baddie. I'll report back in a few hours i suppose.

Especially since it was a cab merlot shiraz blend :) definitely not comparing tastes, just enjoying different aged wines as we like to see what amount of aging does to different wines we open.

So I ended up opening one this past weekend with a friend and can say I was very happy with the wine. It started off very closed and muted with a good amount of acidity, and then really opened up in the glass over the night and showed surprisingly fruity berries to go along with that powerful...

Do you or anyone else happen to know anything more about this wine, or has anyone here tasted it by chance? 24 months in french oak, basket pressed, all seems to make me think it may be rather well made unless something went south... Should mention i've tried to google around and struggled to...

The Wine Collective seems to have started some sort of sale, there appears to be some good discounts on certain wines, i noted these two at good prices: $70.99: https://www.thewinecollective.com.au/products/klein-constantia-vin-de-constance-2018-500ml-2 $99.99...

It's funny reading those descriptions, i think i have a similar opinion on cab savs <15yrs old as well. I realised that young cabs don't give me the "slap" i'm after :) .. but the same cab, 15-20 yrs later? All of the extra tertiary flavours develop and you're left with something a lot more...

I dont have anything i can say on this one aside from the bit of googling that reveals Montague used to be known as Heydon Estate which looks to be in Willyabrup, Margaret River, WA. There looks to have been some big changes amongst estates in Margaret River as last year i did purchase a 6...

I bought the lucky dip case about 6 months ago and got nothing special, 4/5 bottles weren't to my taste (either felt watered down or too green for a red wine) and the 6th bottle was a 50~$ rrp bottle that i've just set away in the cellar which hopefully will be decent. Never again for me...

Same here, was lucky enough to get one as well, but didn't apply coupons as the time it takes to do it would mean I'd miss out. There was a bit of a thought process to it this time around though, as by 5pm, they hadn't thrown up any granges yet (and mentioned they would in the email the day...

I'm actually onto my 5th, it felt silly not to stock up for that price. I've only drank 3 bottles of it so far, one shared with a friend who also agreed that the value was excellent.
