    Experiences on Qantas staff travel

Had a neighbour who was an Ansett pilot at the time and who had the exact same experience. The cost of the hotel in HKG at walk-in rates ended up exceeding the savings on tickets.

Reward booking rant (sorry, I'm frustrated)

Try using Flight Connections website filtered to OneWorld: https://www.flightconnections.com/route-map-oneworld Then put Vancouver (YVR) in as the "To" destination leaving the "From" field blank. This will reveal potential connection cities (eg. DFW) that might work. Successfully used this...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

I've definitely reached Points Club: My question is where are the vouchers? I'm sure in previous years the vouchers would be displayed somewhere in my account but I'm not seeing anything. I understand lounge passes aren't available until after my membership year ends on 31 August but I think...

    The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

Wondering if there is a way to establish the actual date I reached Points Club? Would have been at least a month ago but haven’t seen any vouchers or lounge passes in my account nor received anything by email.

    Losing Gold, Retaining PC+

Fairly sure the "enhanced" visibility of rewards seats for Gold only relates to Qantas flights

Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

Me too. Been thinking for some time that it was too good to be true. Only remaining option for free O/S transactions is Macquarie Black Visa (free as part of a home loan package). But they've recently advised they will no longer earn Qantas points!

    YAT80C - Yet Another T80 Calculator

Tried it out and easy to use. One observation: the calendar entry created has the note: “Check-in and reserve the best seat” It’s not possible to check-in at T-80, you can only do seat selection.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

My suggestion is to use either Facebook Messenger or Twitter to request ticketing. You'll wait a long time - sometimes hours - between messages but they've always delivered for me. Call centre staff - with the exception of HBA - never seem willing or able to expedite ticketing and just give the...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Same thing happened to us prior to our OWA. Everything was ticketed, did the trip without incident only to have the points finally deducted within a day of our return.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

From my experience of booking (and cancelling) a OWA over the last few years I would say there is one factor that trumps all others in assessing pros and cons - availability. Definitely book now in my view. And, as others have suggested, jump onto any changes requiring reticketing. MH is as...

Priority Pass vs Plaza Premium Smart Traveller and others

Agree with p--and--t, just purchasing coupons as and when needed via the Gourmet Society path is very straightforward. Only reason I've also gone the Regus membership path is because the Gourmet Society offer may disappear at any time - in fact I thought it had.
