Agree with this - QF23/24 (and the new Finnair operated flights) are so hard to get CR redemptions even in Y - and the J cabin is always full (even when I was WP I never got a points upgrade). I wish this would be a double daily route - the demand seems to be there but maybe even the J seats...

Update - QF82 this evening is 100% full - good to see Qantas has full flights and is profitable but bad news for upgrades....

I had similiar on QF23 laat week - I am always surprised by how fulk J is on those flights given BKK is primarily a leisure destination.

Service on QF23 SYD to BKK on Sunday 3 June. I took photos of the menu on the screen. There was no hot chocolate service offered and no strawberry blondie with the 2nd meal service. Drink and snack service about 45mins after takeoff, lunch about 45mins after that. 2nd meal service 2.5hours...

I do agree with you on this - I also picked QF82 for a longer transit in SIN - I am coming from SGN on VN so wanted to have time to spare - and I also plan on visiting both the EK and QF lounges. Im only SG so cant use the QR lounge which is a shame.

I would go QF2. I had the same choice for an upcoming flight in June and picked QF82 - which now looks full in J whereas QF2 looks to have good availability in both J and W..... so I will be flying Y.

Im kind of surprised that QF82 is so full in J - I thought QF2 would be the flight that most people pick to come back to SYD as it is the A380 and also leaves SIN a little earlier (so better for business travellers)
