HBA call centre - amazing service for platinum request

Shanghai is what I meant. That would be some forum post, arriving at Puerto Deseado and expecting a connection to Helsinki in 2 hours time. But maybe CPT could achieve the booking. 1687843621 Dear Mr McKay, Thank you for contacting the Qantas Frequent Flyer Service Centre. We appreciate the...

HBA call centre - amazing service for platinum request

Part 2. Need to arrange a OWE for my sister. Researched, found basically the same flights as us (3 days later). First call - CPT. Lady was a struggle - requested 3 different in and outbound options, didn't know how to check them and told me they were on request. So I tell her I have 3...

    Advice on RTW booking

My approach to this, as it is basically impossible to get out of the country in J; Start looking at dates you want to fly +/- 3-4 days Take note of days with J class Then try to match connecting flights Look at multiple ports; HKG, SIN, HND Plan on a couple of hours work on this. One thing...

HBA call centre - amazing service for platinum request

I totally agree with @MEL_Traveller & @ronlon. But, even when getting HBA I have been given the cold shoulder if it gets too hard. I posted this as I was in a bit of disbelief that this lady tried so hard to find my J seats for 2. She knew the system and how to work it, including telling me the...

HBA call centre - amazing service for platinum request

Executive summary - 2 hour call but secured a J OWE itinerary. I don't think it appropriate to use her name, but last Thursday a lovely lady from Hobart spent 2 hours on the phone with me finding rewards flights SYD-AMS then LHR-SYD in May & June 2024. She used her 30 years experience to check...

    Advice on RTW booking

Yes you can. I booked 2 legs on a OWE a few weeks back to secure the seats and then Thursday added in an additional 4 flights to make it a OWE for 318,000. There is a change fee of 5,000 per person, per change so you should do it once only to reduce this. I don't know about a RTW, I have only...

    Refurbished Auckland lounge

And here I was thinking I'd be in the new fantastic lounge today. I must learn to read all the story, not just the headline :(

    Refurbished Auckland lounge

They may have moved some hangers in the cupboard but I cannot see any evidence of building work here at all.

    Refurbished Auckland lounge

Thought I’d kick off this thread, as I am sitting in the Auckland lounge at 10.30am on Tuesday 14 June, the day of the first QF3 flight. What‘s the big changes? Nothing I can see in the First cupboard. And siyuation normal in the main lounge, except for some talking up promotion on the...

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Saturday, QF145 SYD-AKL. Nice greeting from CSM, bubbles and water once seated. This was an A330 so boarded business and economy through different doors. The meal was probably one of the better ones; choice of warm chicken dish, vego thing or cold lamb, pesto potato, bean and olive main with a...

    What cheeses me off

Qantas link Dubbo - Sydney Tuesday 1650 flight. All boarded, seated and looking forward. Co Pilot comes on the PA and tells us there's a broken plane beside us that needs to be fixed, and the mechanic who came up on the incoming flight just needs to tweak a few settings; we'll be off in about 10...

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

That would come under the paragraph ‘proactively working in our customers best interest’ in the training manual. I thinks it’s the last subject on the last day of training and gets rushed through.

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Uh huh. Is what I have been doing, asking for seats to be released. FOMO crisis averted 👍

QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Is this something that Hobart will do without prompting? I spent 45 minutes this morning attempting SYD-LHR in May 2024 and all I have got is SYD-LAX-LHR for a lot of hours and points. Sue was great, attempted multiple routes but that was the best we could find for my specific dates. wondering...

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

Boarding by status makes much more sense. Would be easy for QF; J/P1/WP then SG, then the rest. The US boarding system is so much more refined than the scrum we have now. I’ve always been Group 2 in the US.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF742 ADE-SYD 30/05. Choices were pea soup, ploughmans plate or chicken toastie. Took the toastie. Nice Shiraz on offer. Friendly CSM but no recognition of status.

Article: What to Expect Flying QF1 from Sydney to London via Singapore

It is the same terminal, but the J lounge is a long walk from the gate. The First lounge is half the distance. Last August, all we were able to do in the J lounge was use the bathroom and grab a quick soft drink/water. And forget about any sort of priority in security. Sure, there are top deck...
