I signed up last week using one of the referral links above. Have to say, the entire process was super streamlined - I haven't had NBN since it was installed a few years back. The NBN contractor was out within 3 days, and spent 15 mins setting me up. Plugged in the modem, and voila!
I have...
I flew MEL-PER last week in J on the 330. Dinner flight, took over an hour after take-off to be served a drink. I asked for one as a crew member was walking past - "we'll be out in the cabin shortly, and get you one then". 70 minutes after take-off the trolleys come through, and I get a...
Also passing my referal link to the AFF world, for the 100,000 QFF point signup bonus (full disclosure, I get 40,000 points for referring).

The $450 annual fee is offset by the $450 Qantas Travel Credit.
I've been an Amex customer for over a...
I'm also checking the QF website every few hours - hoping to Fly PER-MEL-PER 10 - 12 December, so far only one direct on the outgoing, nothing direct on the incoming.
A few memories for me;
My first ever J trip from PER-SYD on the 747-300.
My first ever overseas trip to LAX on the 747
A very empty Y cabin from LAX-JFK
PER-SAW-PER. Flew on the direct Instanbul service for the 100 year anniversary of the Gallipoli landing. Even though I was using it as a...
Thanks for sharing this. I was thinking of booking a J reward PER-MEL next month, but after seeing that photo - I'm just going to book Y.
Appreciate service changes are required given the current suituation - but it looks like they've put in no effort whatsoever to differientiate between J and...
I've also applied for the status match, although I tried this previously (few years back) with Qatar, and it was a nightmare to jump through all the hoops/corro, so I just gave up.
ACA is absolutely useless. Seems to have one employee, who simply forwards correspondence back and forth between the PAX and the airline.
I used them for a baggage complaint (damaged suitcase) - they were absolutely useless. They forwarded on correspondence meant for another PAX's...
I guess everyone's different. For my partner, it was the principle of the matter. We didn't get bitter and twisted - we simply wanted to be made right.
I'd hazard a guess that some airlines assume most people will accept reduced offers, which saves them money. If enough people push back on...
My partner recently had their antler bag damaged by Virgin. They would only pay for 50% of the cost to replace (we advised we were happy for them to arrange for repair). They wouldn't budge.
Made a complaint with the Airline Consumer Advocate. They were useless - it seems like there is only...
Don't forget that if you're booking flights, Webjet has a "servicing fee" - Domestic $21.95, NZ/Pacific $24.95, International $32.95, and a "booking price guarantee" - "Domestic $12.95, NZ/Pacific $14.95, International $21.95"
Just used the MyCar offer. My service was $300. I asked if there was anyway they could increase it to $350 (there didn't appear to be any retail items available for sale).
The mechanic looked surprised, and said "sure - I'll bump up the labour so it comes to $350 exactly".
Effectively a $30...
Agree with this 100%. You don't recognise the value of a short call wait time until you need to speak with someone ASAP. As a VA Gold, I've never had to wait more than 3 - 5 minutes, The on-shore call centre team have gone the extra mile from time to time to help me out.
Now, if only they...
I ended up buying multiple cards, and called up to use them on the phone. Bookings have to be made through Virgin Australia holidays - and the phone lines are only open Monday - Saturday (business hours).
