I've been in a similar situation with another hotel chain. Booking honored but no status benefits or points earning.

Walked past the entrance yesterday. The alternative lounge is Plaza premium. QF lounge is nicer if you have access to that (eg through qf status).

Not possible at WLG. The terminal closes for a few hours each night.

In NZ only AKL has airside international transfer. Everywhere else you'll be forced to clear immigration and customs. There is a transfer desk on the main pier after gates 3 and 4.

Air Asia X is changing akl-syd-kul to akl-ool-kul.
