    QF97 BNE-HKG to become red-eye

Makes sence I think they were losing alot of traffic to SQ ex PER and BNE into China due to overnight stop in HKG.

Call for airlines to charge passenger 'fat tax'

I agree this is a plausable solution, unfortunately the majority of pax will prefer these seats (esp high tier flyers) and complain that the regular seating is inferior in seat width. Being tall, I appreciate the additonal seat pitch of PE and J and the premium attracts for this benefit. So I...

    QF97 BNE-HKG to become red-eye

Thats better for outbound AY connections. Stange change as QF has no other flights going out at that time of the night.

Travelex rip off sydney airside 27/11

Understandable - that's very dodgy, however my comment was more in line with the premium charged by FX outlets at airports.

    Qantas prices

I agree with what most have said regarding economies of scale. One other important point to note is of course seasonality. A low season to Ex UK may correspond with a high season ex Australia. This also will have a massive impact on pricing. For example, June ex Australia to the UK is high...

Re: Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explo That's perfect with those open jaws you have mentioned, would you then be flying from LAS to SFO in that case? itinerary would look like this ie. SYD QF AKL // PPT LA SCL LA LIM LA BUE MX MEX MX LAS AA LAX...

Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explorer?

Re: Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explo Yes it's one flight number from PPT to SCL, so only counts as one sector. It's South America, as it's a special territory of Chile (though geographically it's really a part of Polynesia so could go either...

Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explorer?

Re: Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explo Looking at the South America part closer, what you're coming up against is the following: No OWflights between RIO and LIM, RIO and BUE, and LIM AND MEX - meaning you are routing back and forth through SCL...

Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explorer?

Re: Help required - RTW itinerary - QFF points or purchase OW Explorer / Global Explo Cannot include AA on itinerary with HAV included. (ie travel via the US). May wish to look at a HAV side trip from MEX. Also you may have some issues using OW carrierswith travelling from SCL/LIM/RIO/BUE. MX...

Travelex rip off sydney airside 27/11

Why? They charge a price which people are willing to pay. They offer a service which is incredibly convinient for international travellers, they have a right to charge for that priviledge. If you do not like to price, be organised enough to arrange your currency elsewhere.

A word of warning RE: Online orders with Travelex

Just orded some USD online with Travelex, and picked up and paid by Amex. No cash advance fee was charged by Amex, just Travelex merchant fee.

good foreign currencies with no fee!

The banks generally buy through Amex/Travelex anyway, so they put their markup ontop of their rates.
