Yeah Vivino is definitely to be taken with a pinch of salt but if you hit anything above four stars usually you are heading in the right direction. I must say that it gives me a google giggle reading some of the reviews...there are some w@#kers out there! Myself included 🤭

Have to brag. Had a lucky break and hit some gold (IMO) Went to my local First Choice and they had the 4 x Kooyong Chard 2016, 4x Devils Corner Resolution Chard 2016 & 1 x Cape Mentelle Chard 2017 on clearance. The manager came up to me and we started chatting he was keen on getting rid of...

Lol. Does sound like a gimmick! $10 for billi billi is pretty damn good. Anyone know what vintage it is? I presume current?? *Edit it's 2017

An observation, not a criticism.... Love the fact that there are actually some people kicking around who are nice, friendly and engaging. Sometimes there's a fair bit of shade or negativity thrown around these threads - almost as if they have something to prove to someone. I agree @Triumph57...

I must say I am intrigued with this blend. Love Pinot and a big fan of Shiraz/Syrah. Had a couple in my time, some reasonably average, but some really good. I think Medhurst YRB is my fav. I'd love to hear how the Saint & Scholar goes!

Australian Wine Startup - Investment Opportunity

100% not. I jumped on the wagon in the early stages as a punter and an interest in local tech. I am not affiliated or aligned with the company at all - just a supporter and someone who is hopeful that it works out and provides Aussies with a local platform to use for wine

Australian Wine Startup - Investment Opportunity

Well that's helpful @misohoney - thanks for your constructive input. There were a few people discussing so I thought I'd share an update that just came through. I'm not shying away from the fact that I hope they get across the line - as I've said I'm a supporter of local tech stuff...

Update from Wine Valet; OUR CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN IS PUBLICLY LIVE! We just wanted to take a moment to thank our early investors for coming in as we've now successfully raised over $47,000! Yesterday we had over $10,000 invested and here is what some of new shareholders had to say about their...

Australian Wine Startup - Investment Opportunity

I agree that it's not ground breaking, although I am yet to look under the hood of their code. From my understanding user rate the wine (similar to Vivino) and the app matches all future wines delivered thorugh the subscription to their preference of taste. Vivino allows you to buy stuff but not...

You are right, I think it's pretty tight. I'm a fan of new emerging tech, especially Aussie based stuff - hopefully it gets across the line and they can give it a nudge

Through who? Dans? Online?? looks like my internet deal scouring needs improvement if I missed that 😂 The standard $40 for the bin 28 is well overpriced in my opinion, but I’d pay $25

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

You mean I missed $25 Bin28?? Where/when was that? Also @Mynameislucluc - dont think it’s at dans. Not the 2018 Elevage anyway. They do have a reserve shiraz and the sparkling shiraz but not the Barossa Elevage, no doubt they’ll get it at some point anyway, stoked to have picked up a 6er

Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

True. I’ve had a Shiraz from their range before (albeit Mclaren Vale) and thought it was pretty darn good. Dont have much Barossa jn the cellar, so solid wine making skills, combined with the good ratings and sitting in my price brackett ($25-$35) thought it was worth a crack.

Thanks legends, on it as usual!! Anyone taken it for a test run previously? Eying up the Frank Earnest and potentially the recent 2019 Haselgrove as well. Might need some Cab Sauv to balance the cellar
