TI Policy 2017; Single / Annual "CHOICE" Recommend?

Couldn't see any ANZ cards in that credit card list. And the NAB flybuys card that heads the list is no longer available to new customers.

ING - No International Fees + Fee Free ATM Withdrawals Worldwide (Orange Everyday & Orange One)

I entered the ING card details via the PayPal window ["use any credit card"] offered by PayPal if you don't have an account with them, and/or don't want to use them on this occasion. I may have exaggerated the saving as I didn't note exactly what PayPal would have charged in A$, but it was...

ING - No International Fees + Fee Free ATM Withdrawals Worldwide (Orange Everyday & Orange One)

I experimented with using my ING Orange debit card for a small online overseas purchase in US$ yesterday. The only payment option was via PayPal but instead of using my PayPal account as I would usually have done, I went for the "enter your details" alternative. This morning my ING account has 2...

You know you're old when ....

I was living just round the corner at Marble Arch in those days and had just started my first job in the Library of the House of Commons, so I remember it well. My landlady disapproved of my going out "wearing that red coat of yours"!

Re coal tar shampoos: it seems that they disappeared form the shelves because coal tar was thought to be carcingenic. This article has a full account and also a list of what they consider the "best-formulated coal tar shampoos" - US-based, of coourse.

Athens and Iran (OZ, TK and QR business)

I'm sorry to hear that. I was last there in October 2008 and I'm fairly sure I recall the beautiful reflection in the river of the bridge lit up at night as you show it. [ But it is possible I'm in fact remembering a photo seem in a book.]

    Istanbul & Tbilis airports

Going to Georgia again next June, so I'm bouncing this thread with much the same queries as 3 years ago, as it's the only one that came up in my search for "Istanbul transit"! Trouble is that I don't now recall all the detail, and anyway things may have changed in the interim. Especially...

    General Medical issues thread

Just a note that many shampoos labelled "coal tar" no longer have it as an ingredient - it's just "coal tar fragrance".

Anyone else flying on Christmas Day?

I flew on Christmas Day for several years when I had a small retail business and Christmas Eve was the busiest day of the year. That meant I arrived at LHR early on Boxing Day when public transport started up again. I hated the way QF crew would wear 'Santa' hats and go up and down the aisles...

    Melbourne CBD fringe transfer

The way I do it is by StarBus to Rydges Hotel in Swanston St. Carlton, and then tram north to Brunswick from there. Only involves crossing one side road, but I travel with hand luggage only and already have a myki for the tram. With heavier luggage or late at night I would take a taxi even...

Euro trip itinerary advice - first trip in 5 years !

Just a query if you are still reading this thread: why does immigration at Lisbon take so long? Would it be better using an EU passport rather than an AUS one? Any idea if arriving in Porto would be preferable?

Ticket on multiple airlines: seat selection?

Thanks to all of you for your help and suggestions. I didn't know about checkmytrip.com, so I tried that first - usefully because it showed Economy instead of the Premium Economy for the initial MEL-HKG leg on CX. So I need to phone LH and/or CX to get that sorted. I had used my SQ KF FF number...

Ticket on multiple airlines: seat selection?

Thanks, juddles. But where do I start looking for those PNRs? Do I phone LH customer service and ask them or will CX and SQ be better placed to tell me?

Ticket on multiple airlines: seat selection?

For a forthcoming MEL-ATH return I found the best combination of flights/timings on the LH website. I was able to book PE seats on the LH segments (HKG-MUC and MUC-SIN), but that leaves me with no seat allocation for MEL-HKG on CX or SIN-MEL on SQ, both booked in PE. [No PE on the LH MUC-ATH...

ING Direct - ATM Fee Rebate Success?

Good to know. Thanks for the link. I was aware only of the ING thread in the Whirlpool Finance forum.

ING Direct - ATM Fee Rebate Success?

Only just announced. It's possible the free overseas ATM rebate is only from March when the 5 x a month card use requirement kicks in.

    Waitlist... [SQ award]

Thanks, Global IT. I asked because I'm waitlisted for an upgrade from Y to J on SIN-IST in June next year. The rest of my itinerary is all in PE but PEdoes not exist on the SIN-IST flight, so I was booked into Y. Now I have enough points to upgrade that to J, but was told I have to waitlist. Yet...

Dumb redemption Q involving star alliance leg

Yes, sorry I should have been clear about that. My main point was that one can't get anywhere as many options with pricing using the SQ mutli-city online search for that itinerary.

Dumb redemption Q involving star alliance leg

The system is not letting me save the page except as https://book.lufthansa.com/lh/dyn/air-lh/revenue/viewFlights, which will now just take you to a "Generic error" page, but I was searching for MEL-ATH outward 12/10/18, return 23/10/18. To get PE prices I had to modify the search at a later stage.
