Natural wine? Anyone else a fan?

Any suggestions on where to find - preferably in Melbourne - a port (for Communion wine) that has not been fined with milk or egg-whites? Needs to be 'solid' enough to be OK when diluted with water.

Tax and booking code on changed flight

I have now succeeded in changing my July-Aug. SQ J flights MEL-CDG, returning LHR-MEL to a straight MEL-LHR-MEL return in Sept.-Oct., Two aspects puzzle me. In addition to the expected change fee and higher cost of flights outside their promotion period, I waa charged an extra AU$70 for...

    Multi-day small group tour operators

n7of9: I made the point about walking because, sadly, at 79 I can no longer manage the walking and cycling holidys I used to do in Europe. Yet I do prefer country to cities so that is difficult to arrange solo as a non-driver. I really enjoyed the Kudu trips that I've done in the Cévennes and...

    Multi-day small group tour operators

I usually travel with UK tour companies because I have family in the UK whom I vist before or after an overseas trip. Given that you are posting here, I assume you don't necessarily need the main there & back flights included. Most UK tour companies will give you a "without flights" price...

The 5 Stans of the Silk Road

It's not just the distance and road surface but the lack of facilities. The group I was with some years ago crossed from Turkmenistan into Iran at the crossing nearest to the "Holy City" of Mashad. We arrived on the Iranian side just as the border staff went to lunch for a couple of hours...

General Estate Planning issues (Wills, PoA, AHDs)

What I resent is having to take a pre-termined percentage out of my SMSF every year. With interest rates as they are, it would be better left in the SMSF. If I don't need that much - and even now I'm trating myself to travelling in J , I don't need it all - then it has to go into some form of...

    2020 Travel Plans

I had booked a music festival on the Loire and a medieval Burgundy tour, followed by my usual Wales vist, in July -August, but now have taken up the chance to go with a small group around the painted monasteries in Moldavia in early-mid September. Then the Wales visit to family and then a music...

Singpore Airlines A380 SIN-LHR Exit Row best?

If they are elderly are they limber enough to meet exit row requirements? What about their height? I am quite short and I like to have my bag under the seat in front of me as a foot-rest higher than the built-in foot-rests, and for easy access during the flight.

JAL Introduces Child Icon on Seat map

I was once in a window seat and even before take-off the child in the middle seat next to me was kicking his legs sideways into mine continually. I asked a crew member if she could help, saying "I really don't like children"(!) and after take-off she arranged a clever swap: put me in a window...

Important Login Changes to Your KrisFlyer Membership Account

I know I'm not going to remember mine, so I've written it out and taped it to tbe back of an old KF card which has my equally-un-memorable KF number on it. And I do remember where I keep that card:)

Me also. At least they will send it to an email address instead of mobile phone no. And the password requirements are pretty odd too: must include special character.

SQ flight change and *Alliance add-on

Many thanks for all responses. Yes, Cruiser E. , I do know I shall have to contact the KF call centre for both aspects - changing the SQ booking and the *Alliance flight. I am waiting until the LHR-MEL return flight is bookable; it's not until 2nd October 2020 so not available yet. And thanks...

SQ flight change and *Alliance add-on

The special fare was only for SQ flights. I'm assuming it will cost me more than just the change fee to re-book on different dates flying 2 months later than my original booking. I wasn't really expecting to add the Austrian Airlines flight onto my SQ booking. I simply wanted to know if I could...

SQ flight change and *Alliance add-on

I have SQ flights in J MEL-CDG, returning LHR-MEL for July-Aug. next year, booked at the special price for bookings made before 5 Sept. As can often happen with booking so far ahead, my plans have now changed. I now want to change to a straight MEL-LHR-MEL return in Sept.-Oct., and to add on...

    Another travel bag kickstarter

I bought a see-through 'washbag' last year from an Edinburgh company called Arcido last year. It proved to be excellent quality as a replacement for the airport liquids etc. zip-lock, and had ample room for hairbush and comb as well. Good quality, sent v. quickly with negligible postage charge...

    Clear plastic bags for liquids

I bought this 'washbag' last year and had no trouble taking my liquids etc. in it through MEL, SIN or LHR. I did put the required things in an airport bag within it but never had to pull that out separately, and I had ample room for a small hairbrush and comb as well.

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Trying to book a MEL-CDG LHR-MEL multi-city J return on SQ, and found out that it costs more than my main c.c. limit (I'm a poor pensioner), and payment cannot be split between cards. The problem is not finding the cash - I could load that c.c. with the extra cash needed, currently held...

How do Priority Pass food "lounges" work with guests

Just be aware - I wasn't - that paid Priority Pass membership auto-renews on anniversary date, meaning charge to c.c. in US$ at current rate plus c.c. exchange fee. Maybe if you are travelling often and/or always wanting to take a guest it could still be worthwhile, but check out the value first.
