SQ refurbishing KrisFlyer Gold lounge in SIN

Ausbt is right. No separate SQ area. I entered via the SQ reception and wandered down to the end away from the food area, saw the notice re password for wi-fi and found that was available from the Mahraba desk.

Yeah, OK a bit of a whinge and a laugh.... Qantas Money card.

Thanks. I hadn't realized it was now available to Australian residents. I await feedback on the launch. However, as I don't receive US or GBP funds, perhaps using my existing ING debit card will suffice for me.

Yeah, OK a bit of a whinge and a laugh.... Qantas Money card.

I loaded my Qantas Money card with Euros more than a year ago when the exchange rate was much better. I must have used up most of my balance on my just completed trip, but have been blocked & have no way of accessing the website to see how much is left. I'll just keep using it on the next trip...

SQ refurbishing KrisFlyer Gold lounge in SIN

I was in the 'new' space yesterday for several hours. Seems to be shared with Dnata and Marambai(?) each with their own lounge dragon. Approx. 80% full most of the time I was there. The 'lounging' chairs were all down the far end, with a very noisy children's playground of some kind just on the...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Got on the phone as Cruiser Elite recommended. My boarding pass is correct and apparently I have that seat for both segments to LHR. But my seat selection for the long LHR-SIN return segment has shifted from the window seat I booked to an aisle seat in the same row - not happy about that. The...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Just thought I'd check my seat and meal selections for SQ208->306 tomorrow, and I find that 'manage my booking' is not showing any of the seat selections that I made when booking. For SQ 208 the only PE seat available is shown as 31E, in the middle with a bassinet seat at either end! But my...

The joke that is our post office

Ive had that happen now with an aerogramme I sent to the UK. I now write the recipient's name and address in capital letters, and my own as sender on the reverse in very tiny writing.

The joke that is our post office

I ordered printer toner from a Melbourne company. Not needed urgently so left a week before checking re non-delivery. Sender replied Needless to say I had been home all day and no card had been left. It wasn't at a post office but at one of the several phamacies in the area - took me a while to...

Why do airlines still mislay 25 million bags a year?

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me once at LHR. Fortunately the label revealed it belonged to some well-known London journalist, and when the Heathrow baggage staff contacted him via his newspaper, he was still in a taxi on his way into London from the airport. So he had to turn round and...

Japan and a Windy trip around the British Isles.

I'm late catching up with your travels, but was especially interested in Dublin as I'm spending two weeks there in August. You mentioned "our senior cards get us a discount" for the Book of Kells. Was that with the standard Aus Seniors Card? I usually leave mine at home when travelling, as...

Extinction Rebellion plans to close Heathrow.

Presumably airlines will take no responsibility for disruptions or diversions caused by such action, but what line are travel insurance companies likely to take? I'm due to fly into LHR on 2nd July and again (from DUB) on 10th August to connect with return flight to MEL.

    booking through Krisflyer Spree

I used to use KF Spree for eBay purchases, but couldn't find ebay in their lists last time I looked. It wasn't a high value item, so I gave up in the end and just bought it directly.

    TransferWise Borderless Account

Has anyone managed to get a Transferwise debit card yet? Does it require SMS access? I'm now locked out of my Qantas Cash/Travel Money account because I have no mobile phone so no ability to receive SMS. (I do know the approx. balance I'm holding in Euros and plan to use that up for purchases...

New Qantas Money (QTMC) formerly Qantas Cash Card website is now live

Thanks, Insider. That's good to know. Will I need to get an SMS if I top up from another bank accoun in the usual way before I go?

New Qantas Money (QTMC) formerly Qantas Cash Card website is now live

I'm happy to keepmy own tally of my QC expenditure when overseas without accessing my account, but - as I understand it - the new system will involve an SMS whenever I actually use the card. Please tell me it's not so! Or perhaps only for purchases over a certain value?

New Qantas Money (QTMC) formerly Qantas Cash Card website is now live

Why do they not respond to my repeated requests for an alternative system, given that I don't have a mobile phone? I will have one once I'm travelling but won't know the phone number until I buy the SIM card soon after arrival.

    Premium economy to London

I forgot to add that in SQ PE the seats have a full-width leg and foot rest, similar to those in the JAL photo above. As someone who tends to suffer with swollen ankles during and after long-haul flights I find this a real bonus. In the window seat I can leave it up most of the time - and hope...
