Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

Not for (now) USD79 and 'only' Gold. I did consider Platinum.for zip, but read on. Generally status matches can be once only, or at least limited if you have had one before from a service. So my policy is to "match" where I can have reasonable use, "pretty card" not withstanding. My best...

Etihad Guest status match for Australian residents [improved offer as of 22/11/24]

Seems there is no match to Platinum for anyone since at least today. https://etihad.statusmatch.com/faq/ I didn't bother I could not see a use for it. If I were to do the one EY return it would be while VA is still a partner ... and then I have no plans to do anything subsequently with...

    Minimum connection time Sydney?

MCT is not hard and fast. While there are base default times, these can vary depending on things such as inbound/outbound carrier(s), connecting terminal, flight numbers, etc. . Are you able to provide more specifics?

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Learned a similar lesson last a few years ago in the USA. I flew from MSP to DTW in a Delta Regional Jet, of the sort with no overhead storage bin space for rollaboards. On boarding you leave your bag in the airbridge where handlers take them and stow them underneath. When you arrive, after...

    Lounge Access Help Desk

Shortly after the QF/EK partnership commenced, the online lounge access rules were tightened so that eligibility was determined by the frequent Flyer status "in the booking". With this, flashing a card would not work if the FF membership attached to the booking did not allow access to the...

Are the days of BigPond Email Account Numbered?

Thankyou for that. I checked and already had an alternative non Bigpond email set up. Saw no notification. Research indicates a push a year or so ago, but there is little further information. Telstra did introduce a new web interface* earlier this year so maybe they have deferred such plans...

Are the days of BigPond Email Account Numbered?

Did you come across anything official? Research indicates this has been "going to happen" for years. No new Bigpond email accounts have been available for three years. I have been using BigPond email accounts since the 90's. This from back in the pre-ADSL days of 9.6K modems. @cove - in...

Qantas Status based Lounge Access before Fiji Airways Flights

Posted in another thread - FJ to join oneworld "by the end of the first quarter of 2025". That should remove any doubt about such lounge access. https://www.businesstraveller.com/features/oneworlds-ceo-on-new-members-a-digital-platform-and-interest-in-indian-and-latin-american-markets/...

    What cheeses me off

That's because they have up to 20 days after receiving the funds to apply it to the account. The pay day super changes would reduce this to 3 days.

    What cheeses me off

One employee ... the STP service provider does this at no charge. I have avoided using their partnered Superannuation mob. Anyway I have 18 months to see what happens.

Article: Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade: The End of an Era

Note that when I last used the EK lounge at AKL in August it opened at 4:30pm, even though signposted 5:10pm. I asked and was told the time will change with daylight saving. (In August EK449 was scheduled to depart 8:30pm, currently it is 9:05pm)
