Thank you - this is super helpful. Our Aegan Air flight out of CDG takes from Terminal 1. Looking at the car rental company, there is a drop off zone near Terminal 1. Based on your advice, we should be fine to arrive at 9:30. The counter and bag drop off closes 40 mins before departure.

True Departure is 7:45am however boarding at 7:25, bag drop off closure at 7amish so it's tight. Ideally Finnair would checkin the luggage at Osaka KIX to Paris but I would need to email to find out - sounds like it's in a case by case basis.
