    The view from my "office"

My view of the Amora in BNE (until it gets too hot and I close the blinds)shows me they're doing some kind of renos to the rooms. Two floors seem to be being worked on. At least the jack hammering at the entrance has stopped now.

Life Time Silver - no SC reset on anniversary rollover

I've just logged in to mine and my Teen's accounts today (I'm WP with 30/9 end date and the Teen was SG with 30/9 end date). Both of our statuses are accurate (WP for me and LTS for the Teen), but SCs haven't been wiped yet. I'm also waiting to see if the Teen's status anniversary adjusts back...

Passport Renewal / Application - Time Taken?

Put in The Teen's passport application (yay! First 10 year one! Hopefully the last one I pay for!) on Fri 15/9 at Brisbane GPO. Opted to get it posted to our house, arrived on Tues 26/9. It's a new RA series and mentions His Majesty King Charles. The Teen asked if she could still use her...

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Sydney-Noumea-Sydney. It’s a Disney cruise. They have an older kids club, which the Teen is eligible for (17yo then), should they wish to attend.

    Made any travel mistakes lately?

Going on our first cruise in late Dec, leaving from Sydney. When debating flights down from BNE, I couldn't interest Mr Katie in flying down the day before. All I knew was the ship was leaving at 4:30pm. So I figured a flight getting in to SYD at 11am would be enough. After making a comment to...

My Mum and I seem to have shared our recent propensity for hurting our ankles/feet. Unfortunately for my friend, her hurt ankle was closer to my Mum's than mine. Mum broke her ankle and wrist last Nov after being knocked over by a dog. I sprained my ankle (apparently not so much the foot...

Going quite well. Bruising gone, I can wear sneakers, still some swelling at the front of the ankle and side of the foot. Otherwise, my foto is its knobbly self and I can mostly walk. Just trying not to overdo it. Walked Q with Mr Katie this morning, and Q seemed a little better with us...

Hmmmm. Yes, he is my goodest boi. Though being strange since I fell three weeks ago. Adjusted very well to walking at 8-8:30am with a walker instead of ~6am with us/me. But is now not adjusting well to morning walks without me. Almost aboe to walk him. Maybe he needs less walking now he’s 2!!

Q turned 2 on Saturday. In our usual style, we mostly forgot. Mr Katie didn't share the Beef Tartare he had for dinner with Q, much to Q's displeasure. We don't want to try him on onions. ;) He had a naughty start to last week by eating the armpits out of two woollen shirts of mine. One of...

This has even been with people who haven’t seen my foot or the bruising. I get that people seem to frequently sprain their ankles, and I assume that’s why - they remember “sprain” and some lower limb, so think sprained ankle. Anyway, just having a rant.

Slight frustration, and it was the same 5 yrs ago with my right foot. WHY DOES EVERYONE ASK ABOUT MY ANKLE WHEN I'VE SAID I'VE SPRAINED MY FOOT????!!!! ARRRGGHHHH. OK, got that off my chest now. 7 days after injury. I think the bruising has peaked now. Counting down to seeing the physio...

I had a small fall on Sunday evening, thinking about 11 things at once, and starting to make our way to the airport to collect a guest. I thought I was on the bottom stair of our internal stairs ... but I wasn't. :( Of course, Mr Katie is away being a MAML on a TdF tour, I only spectacularly...

Anyone been on Disney Magic at Sea ?

Booked the 6nt SYD-Noumea-SYD cruise over New Years last night. First time on a cruise for all of us (apart from the Oslo-Copenhagen overnight ferry! :P) Main impetus was to have something to do a New Years, and this is the last year the Teen will be eligible for the Teen's club (they'll be 17...

Oh cough, Mr Katie's about to be a MAML for a week and a bit, I'll be on cooking duty. Shall I sneak out and buy an air fryer after dropping him at the airport?? 😝

Annual NZ Dinner: CHC 9 March 2024

I noticed, which made me think about bringing the Teen rather than them staying home. I just don't understand what the grade 12 assessment will be like. I guess if there were work to do, it wouldn't be the first time the Teen's stayed in our accommodation on the internet ... 😂

Intrigued, would have all three of us go, but unsure with the Teen being in grade 12. Might look at the flight options.
