    Ah nostalgia

We are in the F lounge in Sydney again after a number of years absence due to Covid. A tear of nostalgia runs down my cheeks as I hear the Copal digital status board turn over. Humbug to those new silent electronic display thingies

    Link Airways incident, Canberra 10/11/22

Both the ground crew and flight crew are meant to have checked the aircraft. They missed a ratchet mechanism attached to a propellor. How is that not a failure. I have worked on heavy and small aircraft for more than 50 years and am astounded that this could happen and then be apologised for. I...

    Link Airways incident, Canberra 10/11/22

A number of individuals have responsibilities before an aircraft is clear to fly. These people have failed their task. I f the system is not sufficiently detailed and then implemented then it is the top level butts that need kicking. This event is not a simple oh I missed that moment.

    Ask The Pilot

    Aviation museums

+1 for Udvar Hazy Center. A part of the Smithsonian built by a number of donations from a successful secondary airline operator. I leave it to you to guess the name of the benefactor. In the USA there are significant tax advantages for donations. I wish that this was the case for other than “the...

    Caution on flight credits

I rang the platinum number but I am sure the accent was not Hobart or NZ. No I was unable to use it, I waited a polite time and then she said that as I was unable to use it the only way was to apply for a refund. She said that this would take about 8 weeks normally but she would escalate it and...
