    Classic Lite proposal

I wonder if Qantas just wants to stop Velocity from saying it has the cheapest domestic Economy rewards?

    Fiji Airways announces Cairns flights

Most likely there will be QF codeshares eventually, but it might take a while. That was the case when FJ launched CBR-NAN, anyway.

    AFR's Joe Aston goes BAM!

There appears to be a reference to AFF on page 122, in a section talking about the problems Qantas had during the ramp-up in 2022.

Etihad Plane (EY461) has issue after takeoff - Melbourne

With respect, there are issues with overweight landings and I would suggest leaving it to the pilots and other appropriate experts to comment on the technical aspects.

Qantas A380 (VH-OQI) flew for almost a month with a tool left inside the engine

The ATSB has released a report into a Qantas A380 (VH-OQI) that flew 34 times between 6 December 2023 and 1 January 2024 with a tuning tool inside the engine. The foreign object had been left there, and was later found, during scheduled maintenance at LAX. Luckily it did not damage the engine...

    SQ Y+ vs Scootplus

There's a review of ScootPlus here: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/scootplus-review/ I find it perfectly comfortable for a daytime flight. Just have no expectations about the food, drinks, wifi or IFE.

    Entry requirements for Caribbean islands

I was thinking about visiting Trinidad & Tobago earlier this year and also couldn't find a straight answer regarding the entry requirements. I ended up just skipping the country entirely. Would be interested to know the answer though, for next time.

Etihad Plane (EY461) has issue after takeoff - Melbourne

Would the same crew really be allowed to operate MEL-AUH with a duty time 5 hours longer than planned?

Qantas Hotels/Holidays International Points Offer - November 2024

Not a bad offer, but obviously not quite as good as the recent one of 5,000 points for hotel bookings of $100+ :p

Good J prices: EY MNL-Europe rtn

For those using these fares, just beware that Etihad will start using a Wamos Air wet lease on EY446/447 (one of two daily AUH-MNL rotations) from 15 Dec 2024. EY440/441 is still EY operated. https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/241114-eydec24332

VA and other seat maps not showing on ExpertFlyer

This excerpt is from an article I wrote last year. You haven’t provided a link to the original article, so for the benefit of others, here it is: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/expertflyer-alert-business-class/ This article was not featured in yesterday’s Gazette, if that’s the...

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

The Manila deal is often there. It's good and I would happily use it. I think some people though prefer to stopover in Singapore and/or find it easier to get to Singapore from Australia than Manila. :)

EY J Singapore to Europe just over $3,000 return

Some good prices at the moment on Etihad Business Class from Singapore to Europe, including to Madrid. Etihad starts flying the A380 on SIN-AUH in February. Combine with a separate ticket from Australia to Singapore for good value on flights to Europe.

Alaska Airlines no longer shows any Qantas award availability

This has been going on for a little while. I agree that something is up - if it was just a one-off glitch it should have been fixed by now. I’ve tried to get an answer from Alaska Airlines but none is forthcoming at this point.

How long will QF use DSC promos - Your guess?

I think Qantas is just as addicted to these offers as AFF members. I don't think they'll be going away any time soon, they probably help managers reach their short-term revenue targets when a bonus payment is pending ;)

    Lufthansa Business Class

I like the service on LH but you'd have to be a real fanboy/fangirl to argue that it's objectively better than SQ. The hard product on most of LH's long-haul jets is still 2-2-2 in J, which isn't particularly private although the seats are lie-flat and comfortable enough. I wrote about LH J in...
