    General Medical issues thread

Osteoarthritis in left hip for past 6-7 years, then osteoarthritis in right hip, then osteoarthritis in both knees with the left one worse and I gave up 2 years ago when I found out there's osteoarthritis in left foot after 1st cellulitis infection. I can push through pain better than most but...

    What cheeses me off

Shouldn't be in this thread but Good Guys have given mum and dad full credit for their almost 2 year old TV. Looks like 43" LG and take 5 year Gold Service Extras.

    What cheeses me off

Some days walking just a few hundred metres is a burden. Hard to put one foot in front of the other foot and so on. They say walking is easy. Not always that easy in my shoes. I don't give up easily but some days it's just too much and I've been known to take the car to the mall which is ~500...

@Flashback I hate Hertz with a passion. They stole 3 days car hire from me on points I had saved up for ages and support is useless and they just don't care. I said never again to hire from Hertz but Rentalcars and QEEQ both have cars from Hertz at a significant discount so bite tongue.

Trying to do a Westpac balance transfer, contact details need to be verified, so verify contact details, try to do balance transfer, contact details need to be verified.... This goes on over and over. Who releases this junk to production? If a bank ever says we're here to help, then run as far...

    What cheeses me off

So Gold Service Extras is one year extra on statutory warranty. Not expensive but also comes with 3 x $20 shop credits each year for 3 years. A few times I've had 2 issued close to each other and used them together. But Good Guys is expensive anyway. But regardless my last experience with LG...

    What cheeses me off

Bought a Hisense flat screen TV for mum and dad Dec 2022 and it has stopped working. Lucky I bought Gold Service extras until Dec 2025. My luck with appliances continues. Just because it's cheap should not mean it's junk. Surely you'd expect more than 20 months use?

    Scams like these

CBA fraud called today. I had to call back especially since they locked account. Close to AUD2200 sent to Thai bank account and AUD180 sent to my Aunt in Greece via Western Union. We see we've sent to Thailand before. Yes we go there often and I send spending money over. There have been lots...

So Lion Air didn't cancel our flight they moved the 1:00pm flight to 5:10pm but had 11:00am, 1:30pm, 3:40pm, 6:00pm and 10:00pm available. I don't understand why they culled so many flights on that day when there are hardly any flights for sale almost 5 months out. I suspect buses and trains are...

    General Medical issues thread

I had outpatients appointment at RBWH. Dropped wife off at the front then went off looking for street parking. Parked about 700-800 metres away. Couldn't walk it in one go so stopped about 200 metres short and had a 30 second breather. Made it all the way inside without stopping again but I...

    What cheeses me off

I really really hate this stupid game airlines are playing right now. 2nd Jan 2025 looks to be one of the busiest days flying in Thailand. Only a few flights left on Thai Lion Air and Nok Air CNX-DMK and these are not cheap. We are booked on the 1:00pm from CNX arriving DMK 2:25pm or...

    Scams like these

Virgin Money trying to contact me multiple times today. Apparently they have blocked a $1 transaction to TASTYPAYROLLCO and wanted to know if that was me. This looks to be some sort of (scammy) subscription service and people have a hard time getting their money back. Anyway another card...

What I ate today - the food thread

I'm hungry. Chicken drumsticks with Thai yellow curry and potatoes on a bed of Thai Jasmine rice. These 2 didn't even touch the sides.

Fake Qantas Telephone Scam currently active

I'm struggling to see the scam which probably means I'm susceptible to being scammed. There's been a flight change, you call a fake number, they log into your booking, make a change for you that is free anyway, and then ask for credit card details and charge you an amount for helping you? What...

    What cheeses me off

Sometimes you're left scratching your head at some of the "enhancements". I cannot find any way to turn off "Getting too much email?" notification in Outlook. Only started appearing this week. Extremely annoying as it's taking up way too much space that should be used for emails.

I'm stunned. That was the authorisation for the refund. It would appear that ANZ have refunded full amount including foreign transaction fee.
