Gah, I only saw this now and unfortunately I have other plans. I've been so busy lately I haven't been lurking as often in here. Hi to all, sad to miss it, but for sure I'll catch the next one! Life might slow down soon... Ah who am I kidding, new job next year maybe I'll breathe easier in 2023! Ha.

No plans for 2022 except for small domestic trips. Will have to let our savings recover after building the house. But I'm hopeful we can do a Broome to Darwin tour in 2023, I've never been to that part of Australia before.

So we've been in just over two weeks - there's still a lot of stuff to sort out and put away, but we're getting there. I've got an afternoon tea booked with friends for Halloween, as by then I can have 10 visitors. So that's my deadline to really make sure the place is looking good :D Today...

I'd love to, but I'm going to be a bit tentative about the opening up, and wait a bit longer before emerging into the great outdoors. Next time for sure.

I'm so tired! But we're in! We spent our first night in the new place last night. Everything hurts. So much cleaning, lifting, moving, packing, unpacking... And of course it had to rain! A few minor casualties with some book boxes getting wet, but hopefully they'll be okay. Still some more...

Flooring is done, skirting boards are painted. Tomorrow is vacuum, sweep, dust and mop day to clean up. 4 sleeps until the moving truck comes!

Flooring is looking good! They actually were able to start a day earlier which was great for us.

We have the keys! We got them yesterday actually, but I missed most of what was discussed with our site supervisor as I had a call I had to take. We had packed the car with stuff to take so it wasn't a wasted trip, heh. We set up the modem to get internet which now means MrD can work from there...

Ooh, thanks for that, that's a good break down. Those things like flooring and stuff won't be able to be done under current rules, so I will have to wait and see if the lockdown is extended. I'll definitely keep an eye on this page!

In preparation for getting keys at some point soon, we've begun booking in things. Moving is still an essential activity, but I'm unsure about flooring installation or any of those other things. Practical completion inspection done. It's looking good! Only minor cosmetic things that need fixing, some dings/scratches and that kind of thing. We went around putting blue and yellow painters tape on walls and doors and other things to highlight the imperfections that will need touching up...
