Do you mean choose a fee free US card ? Is there any downside to getting one of the big points Aus offers first, then transfer to a US card before the second year’s fee is due ?

For those who do this frequently... If the MNL->Europe flight is in the evening, is an AM arrival on non-Jetstar SYD-MNL ok, or would you generally arrive a full 24h before the Europe leg regardless ? Also, any other recommendations for places close to the airport in Manila ?

So AmEx has a 275k sign up bonus for the platinum card at the moment... Still struggling to swallow the $1450 annual fee when KrisFlyer is 3:1, Bonvoy is 3:2 (then some other poor ratio to get into AC)... Does Amex let you convert MR to Accor ? That conversion is only 2:1...

Is there a way to just search for base award flights ? When I select 'use my points', I appear to get dynamic pricing (points) only... though I guess it's possible there are no award flights for the regions/dates I'm looking at
