If this is the Signature Visa that comes with a $395 AF (sans discounted signups) then a free version is pretty good. You just have to work out if that 0.325PPD differential can offset the cost of signing up for a Dragon based on your spend. For me it certainly does.

Atm $179 in year 1 and $279 subsequent years. Compares favourably to ANZ's $425 AF.

That 7.5k cap is what prevents me from going for the card. Not worth the AF just to earn an extra 1312QFF/month* over the Dragon. Signup bonus notwithstanding. *Calculated as 7500*1 (ANZ) - 0.825*7500 (Dragon+bday bonus)

Based on everything I've read in this thread (which is literally everything), I'm going to go with 'no'.

Yes, that is what I meant. Only two conditions need to be met: 1) A letter in writing that Ascent Prem pts get doubled on 15 April 2019 (fulfilled) 2) Successful conversion of Ascent pts to Ascent Prem points (waiting to see)

Because if s/he applies for the plat charge and successfully get a full conversion of Ascent MR to Ascent Prem MR before April 15 then I would also utilise the same strategy to maintain the value of my points.
