Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

My best guess is: August 2020 for domestic December 2020 for international My niece and her 3 children were/still are booked on Qatar London to Perth in late October 2020, but I am hoping she can cancel and rebook for 2021. This year is no time for a holiday.

General Coronavirus chit chat thread - non-travel specific

It’s my son’s birthday today too. He lives in Melbourne, so no flying visit from Perth this year - just a gift in the mail and a Facetime call from home.... but I know that next year we can catch up again. This afternoon I had news from a friend, that another member of a club we belong to had...

The "I am in self-isolation" thread

I don’t have a hearing impairment, but I find myself strangely drawn to watching the very expressive faces of the Auslan interpeters during any media announcement from the PM.

    Gin!

Mostly lime, sometimes lemon peel or cucumber slices. I don’t want to start panic buying similar to the TP saga but... Has anyone thought about the fact that because some of the distilleries are now making much needed hand sanitiser, there could possibly be a world wide shortage of gin !

Australian Reports of the Virus Spread

@drron is there any information about the doses that would be required to treat Covid-19 ? Massive doses for critically ill patients with CV and ARDS, then taper dosage. Also I am presuming ..based on no information, just a wild guess - that it would be a short term regime for weeks or...

What can you do to help (COVID19)...

I saw this thread as being about what practical advice ,suggestions or help could be offered to Australians. I don’t think @teammongo imagined it would be about debating about patents or China. There are lots of other threads in AFF for that.

NHS have 8,000 and have ordered another 8,000 domestically and internationally - but need 30,000 ! Dyson have a prototype for a new type of respirator to be...

Not shipwrecked or mutinying, waving - from the Abrolhos Islands

Wonderful photos John, what kind of cost per day was the cruise ? Even though the cost of crayfish on restaurant menus might have come down a little in the early COVID days, I reckon you have eaten your way through a fortune of crustacean each day ! 🦞
