A friend wanted to transfer her points to her daughter who was not a QFF member. The daughter opened a new account and then the mother transfered her points across. The points arrived OK but so did a message that the points could not be used for three months. Is this a thing with new...

I can't help wondering when these procedures/heli routes were approved? Are they something that was approved in the 60's or 70's when traffic levels were, presumably, significantly less? Or were they something that was approved more recently?

Well if the points are going to expire anyway, it makes sense to use them now (unless you will have the opportunity to use them on another trip).
