I suspect that those of us up the Velocity 'food chain' and regular travellers are not going to be offered anything. The offer is too broad ie: for a year of flying. I can plan my regular flights and would go multiple Platinum. Would love to hear differently, seeing as mine said nah nah.

Sounds very sensible to me. It would also be sensible if Velocity sent three bag tags instead of two to Platinum members. Why send two when we can have three bags?

I don't want to sound trite but obtaining Gold and thus free entry isn't too hard. The extension to that point is that if you are flying enough to warrant lounge membership, then Gold is achievable and if not flying that much, use the cafe!

Slightly above your budget but the best card is Amex Velocity Platinum. I moved from QFF to VVF about a year ago, via this card and find it fab. It has useful benefits as add ons.
