Article: Unbundled Business Class fares that exclude perks like lounge access

The original Business (AKA Star Class) was agnostic - you did get lounge access irrespective of the fare and even at ports where Qantas did not have a lounge.

    Melbourne SkyBus gone up again

Since I couldn't book using my RACV seniors discount (would have been $29.70) I used Agoda and booked an adult return for $31.61 rather than pay the standard $33 seniors rate. https://www.agoda.com/en-au/activities/detail?activityId=1414615&travelDate=2025-03-22

Shortchanged when transferring Hilton Honors points to Qantas

it may be rather niche transferring HH to QFF and not many would do it. Given the poor base transfer rate ($75 value to $23*) I perceive generally most would only do so for a specific points need where the opportunity cost may make it worthwhile. *My valuing at USD½¢ per HH and 1.65¢ per QFF

Can I visit Qantas Domestic lounge instead of International lounge?

I have done this several times over the last 18 months after various arrivals on QFi, MH & CX. Note that T1 at MEL now uses the newer scanners - way up the most Northern end of the terminal.

Reason for carry-on being diverted for manual check at security (and then released without check)

The first screening is more of a triage. The staff member doing the secondary has more tools to review the images and can often make a decision based on what they see without opening the bag.

It's UBER, taxi, or shuttle bus from Cairns. No other PT options unless you walk. Ealier this month 8pm, Uber was $35, took taxi for $22. Return next day was Uber for $15.

How does Accor treat you as an Elite guest?

Me too; with bookings for Japan when I'm solo, I always compare the rate for 1 or 2 PAX. Savings can be significant.* (*far more than the cost of a drink)

Surprising the call center would force 3K. Didn't they realise a terminal change was needed?
