Have just booked return flights Singapore to Rome for May next year with SA. Is it better to join KrisFlyer? I'm Velocity Silver now so no perks and not using Virgin much anymore. Plan to purchase a one way to Singapore with Scoot as well.

So I guess there's no chance they would match Qatar Gold given it was a status match originally with Virgin? I'm now Velocity Silver and have upcoming return flights on SA to Europe.

Can you use Qantas lounge passes past the expiry date so long as they're linked? I thought that only worked for Jetstar flights?

Priority Entry Sydney still not open peak time Friday morning last month 😟. After the long haul through security the VA lounge was packed to the rafters. No makings for sandwiches, just breakfast pots and toast. Not bothering next time, the food court is nicer!

Use a different card? We all have the occasional card fail. I always use a debit Visa or MC on Jetstar with no problems. Arriving at kiosk with 5 minutes to spare is chancing it.

OK so my new membership year started beginning of May, and have completed activities since then. Will I have to wait until May 24 to collect bonus points?

A question. I qualified for Green Tier last year and took the points. I've almost qualified again for this membership year (Sustainability Quiz not showing on Wellbeing app, emailed over a month ago *sigh*). Will I not be entitled to the bonus points when I qualify?

Yes I would feel a bit queasy about visiting China and unfortunately that now includes Hong Kong 🙁

Agree that $500+ is far from nearly free, considering the time and effort required. I believe Hong Kong is currently deluged with visitors from the mainland which takes a shine off the experience. I have many fond memories of Hong Kong but will give this a miss.

What is only effective 21 days into new membership year?

It's not a big or busy airport. Jetstar allows about an hour for the transits to Japan. I think you should be fine for 7.30am barring a long delay... that's what I would do.

Can you double dip? I achieved green tier last year. Can I repeat this year for another swag of points?
