OK I'm confused. I'm going overseas for a week soon and have bought some perfume locally thinking I could claim GST back. I have the correct paperwork. If the perfume is new and unopened on departure but I bring it back with me opened and used, I need to declare it and repay GST? ☹️

I'm hoping it's the Riposte but it sounds like a wine I'd like. Alcohol matches and $25 is closer to RRP for Riposte than Sidewood. Not such a great bargain but Pinot Noir is what I needed.

Really the layover is usually short. You have to collect and recheck baggage, customs etc. Or do you mean to stay over a day or two? I loved day trip to Daintree... a long drive but so ancient and remote.
