Your favourite photos taken of/from a plane?

My record on QF28 was around 71 degrees south. I don't think we were allowed/able to go any lower. This was back when it was a Boeing 747 route. It doesn't show this on this map as we hadn't got there yet, but we flew right over Tasmania towards the end of the flight.

    BOQ Specialist Signature Card enhanced

Am I missing something? The old rates are still being advertised on the BOQ Specialist website: https://www.boqspecialist.com.au/personal-banking/credit-cards

    Seasonal DRW-DOH floated

I think DOH-DPS-DRW with something like a 787-8 or A330 could work. There's enough demand between DPS and DRW that the loads might not be terrible. Yields are another thing, though. Wonder how much cargo demand there is between DOH and DRW?

Very disappointed about Qantas FF program

There is probably a way to make this work using Qantas points, but reward availability is limited as others have said. You might need to get a bit creative. Have you considered using some of your Qantas points to fly Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Lumpur, then (separately, a day later) booking an...

Sneaky Qantas points 'rubber duck trick' sends Aussie travellers into meltdown

Reminds me of this classic AFF thread: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/wow-select-trolley-run.40756/ I suspect they were using this to promote their website/blog and were intending for it to go viral. ;)

Status credit question - Jetstar Business max

FWIW, the JQ website says that this routing (SYD-CNS-KIX) will earn 9450 points + 180 status credits with a Business Max fare. 🤷‍♂️

    Brisbane to Honolulu restart possibility???

I flew this route on Jetstar back in around 2015. I do think there's a chance Hawaiian Airlines will restart services once it joins Oneworld and is a Qantas partner. Qantas has enough onward connectivity available through BNE that they could probably fill a 3x weekly service with a mix of O&D...

The little things that make a difference

It's always nice when hotels/airlines pay attention to the details. I like it when the staff make the effort to remember your name. A small touch but shows they care (or at the very least, have a good memory!). I was impressed once to board an Air Astana flight in business class and be...

    Saudi Arabia and Saudi Airlines

Not sure what route you're after, but there are other domestic airlines. Flynas and Flyadeal are LCCs, but I'm sure they would get the job done.

Help me sort out my flights!

I assume that Economy was available only as Classic Plus, while Business was a regular Classic reward.

Qantas to start flights from Darwin to Singapore

I like that timing much better than the ~4am arrival. Also means a shorter connection time off QF2.

    Qantas Wine latest offering

25,002 bonus points with this case for $474 (before any discounts) seems like a good deal. https://wine.qantas.com/p/magarey-lane-magarey-lane-glenroy-coonawarra-shiraz-2016/MAGLGLSHZ16

Hong Kong Airlines plans daily SYD-HKG from June 2025

Wonder if/when Velocity will reinstate redemptions on Hong Kong Airlines? They still claim to be partners, but it doesn't feel like much of a partnership at the moment...

Any early check in at HKG?

The in-town checkin is a great service. Nice to see it back for QF flights.

Europcar caught scamming customer at Sydney Airport

I came across this article on LoyaltyLobby about Europcar at Sydney Airport: https://loyaltylobby.com/2025/02/10/reader-case-fraudulent-practices-at-europcar-sydney/?omhide=true If the claims in the article are true, this all seems pretty dodgy. The main issues seemed to be: Europcar changed...

Loungepedia app - an alternative to LoungeBuddy

Has anyone tried the Loungepedia app? With LoungeBuddy no longer around, this seems like a reasonable alternative. It shows all the lounge options at most airports, and you can configure the app by adding your elite status/lounge memberships/credit cards so that it shows you which lounges are...

Reconsider your need to travel areas
