Seemingly trivial reasons why you choose one hotel/airline/shop over another

Fresh(er) air - airlines/aircraft with individual air vents, hotels with opening windows.

Not really. Baggage delivery has always been a joke.

    QantasLink Dash 8 Guide

CNS-POM in a dash 8. Took a while to get my head around getting an international cabin service in the dash 8, but as WP I had the 4 seats at the front to myself (oh! When being a WP meant something), which was a tad embarrassing on what was quite a full flight.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Couldn't read that part of the menu on my phone. A good biriyani as a main would be excellent, but it wasn't on offer as a main. I'm not a fussy eater in the great scheme of things, but it just manages to touch on the 2 things I hate - squidgy textures (tofu, eggplant, excess pork fat), and...

Where to go in Europe that's mild in winter

Canary Islands. Southern Italy might not be too cold. But why go to NH winter and hide from it? Geneva, Vienna provide many options.

Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I'm with you. Pork belly aka pork fat. And don't do seafood. Vegie sometimes ok but never eggplant. Not a real meat option on the menu. A big fail. Didn't really have an option to offer and probably knew it.

    Qantas vs Cathay Y MEL-HKG?

Definitely one of the biggest factors in flight selection.

    Qantas vs Cathay Y MEL-HKG?

I don't think anyone questioned that there were 2 services. More the substance of QF's second service.

    Qantas vs Cathay Y MEL-HKG?

Last time I checked Y seats were not 8 inches across. More like 2 inches wider which makes a huge difference. Whilst I've always coveted lounge access I ended up in the US with no lounge access once and ultimately realised a few 10s of dollars spent in commercial establishments was a better...

How long is too long in the (F) Lounge?

Given you're about to spend so long sitting on a plane, I'd be out of the airport in a flash for at least a couple of hours. I'd want to stretch the legs, the eye balls and breath some fresh air.

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

...Shows that people were not buying revenue fares at QF's inflated prices either so now they're having a "sale" that still has overpriced revenue fares. As QF chose to join the race to the bottom in terms of customer experience, they are left only competing on price which is also a race to the...

    QANTAS talking to the disaffected!

In the days before online check-in (yes it was a thing) when you didn't get checked in until you got to the airport, I ended up near the back of an A330 doing Mel-syd (yes that was also a thing). But got my aisle seat. I moaned to a flight attendant at being so far back down the plane and they...

    Route only available with points?

Was about to search Mel to London, and accidentally ended up with LCY as the destination. QF website says this route is only available with points. Can anyone explain this?

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

I'd got the impression (probably wrong) that when certain fare buckets were available then there would be C+ rewards available at the commensurate points equivalent. So you might expect there always to be C+ seats (albeit with a lofty points requirement) until only the pricier buckets were left.

    What cheeses me off

That makes no sense. You've chosen to buy one place and not live in it. That your attempts to game the system aren't living up to expectations isn't anyone elses fault.

Qantas to Introduce Group Boarding and Bag Tracking

It depends how you define a group. I'm pretty sure they've boarded by row number for years for the A380 (eg at LHR) and I've certainly seen that enforced to fill up from the back of the plane. I know this is now domestic but the comment about SIN makes it relevant.
