Sadly you might be stuck waiting for it to open, unless you can talk your way into the Air NZ lounge. There are a couple of decent cafes past immigration that will be pleasant enough to help pass the time though.

On a recent Etihad flight I was appalled to witness a Y passenger (seated beside me) use the armrests of the seat in front to rest her feet. I don't care how comfortable it is, that's just awful!
