    V/Line fare reductions

Then I accidentally travelled on one of the last "N Sets" from Warrnambool to Melbourne on Friday 28th March! The previous "First Class" seats (2-2 configuration) were indeed available for the standard price on a first come basis. I had a empty seat beside for the entire journey. :) I won't...

    HKG - any airside hotels?

I've done this recently. There's another hotel. Part of the Regal chain. The Regala Sky City. Just a couple of minutes, one stop, and a specially priced cheap ticket on the Airport Express train to AsiaWorld Expo station. Then an undercover, easy walk to/from the hotel. You could almost...

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

Free bus. Grab. Taxi. They all go the same way! So from a traffic point of view, it won't matter too much.

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

I've done it quite recently too. T3 to T1 route, land-side. But early evening and raining. Traffic: A nightmare. But it does move! Just slowly.

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

I suppose, try for the free transfer bus. Or book a Grab. If those don't work and you are stuck, AUD 10 cash is around PHP 350 which any taxi driver would likely take! So have a few small AUD notes in hand?

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

Yes, cards aren't accepted everywhere. But I had almost no problems with cards on my trips to MNL. I doubt air-side at MNL airport would be a problem.

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

If you are just transiting and just need a small amount, it can be an issue.

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

I think that Grab might be more honest is a consideration. And you don't need cash. I've had quite some attempts to cheat from taxis in Manila. Know the fare in advance! You can negotiate with taxis.

Tips for transiting at Manila NAIA T3 to T1

Get there as quick as you can. Because traffic around the airport can be a bit of a nightmare. And T1 procedures are not all that quick. Grab is probably the best option. It's actually not all that far, T3 to T1. The problem is it can be bumper-to-bumper for a good deal of that short...

Fiji Airways Business Class A350 MEL-NAN

I thought to add a bit about the Fiji Airways Premier Lounge in Nadi. If you have access, this is quite a good lounge by most business lounge standards. It's windowless but pleasant with quite decent offerings of food and drinks. And lovely staff!

    DoubleTree coming to Hobart

There's a fair bit of discussion of the DT Hobart here: https://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/threads/how-do-hilton-treat-you-as-an-elite.18502/post-2787308 No lounge. IME if there is a lounge or not is always noted on the Hilton website.

    Ways that hotels annoy guests

Two words: Sequential bookings. (Sometimes called “split bookings” by hotels) I’ve rarely stayed in a hotel that can handle them without inflicting some form of administrative “torture” on the guest.

Fiji Airways Business Class A350 MEL-NAN

Once in flight, a pre-meal beverage was offered. The seat is very nice. The screen is good. I didn’t watch any entertainment but used the map. The table is an interesting pull towards you arrangement. Free WiFi was offered to Business Class: Next the meal. I thought this was pretty...

Is there any way I can take this item onboard flight?

CASA calls them: "Aerosols containing flammable gas in toiletry or medicinal articles (e.g. hairspray, perfumes, deodorants, insect repellent applied to the body etc.)" But Qantas seems to call them: "Toiletries and medicinal items".

Is there any way I can take this item onboard flight?

A domestic flight? It should be no problem. For domestic flights leaving a domestic terminal, there are no limits on liquids and aerosols that are for personal consumption/use on the body. If it's an aerosol (like shave cream), it's the cap that will be important. That it secures the...

Not such a great way to fly

For context, do you know the part of Australian consumer law that you refer to? I've bought many things online where the final price was not really the initially offered price.

AFF Review: Fiji Airways A350-900 Economy Class (SYD-NAN)

Thanks! But to note that immigration/passport control is before luggage collection. So with/without checked bags doesn't matter too much at that point. IME, that's where the lines are. Long at times. It can matter more at customs. But hand and/or checked, I've always found that at NAN...
