    MEL taxi scam

OK, what if your residence is CLOSER to the airport than the CBD? Do you then pay full fare? You can't win.

    MEL taxi scam

So is the fixed fare more than the normal fare incurred when a legitimate driver who takes the shortest route under average traffic conditions? If so, then riders will not be pleased either.

    General Medical issues thread

If you've lost a fair bit of weight, you can return to normal blood sugars, even without meds, meaning effective remission from diabetes. Small mercies. Swelling and inflammation unfortunately is part of a lot of lives, unfortunately.

Consequences of Ditching Last leg of an Itinerary

Haven't booked yet. @Forg, it's my mum and dad, not my kids, so you will have to pretend to be 80.

    Greenland expedition cruise August 2025

Even a ticket on the basic ferry from Nuuk to Ilullisat runs north of a grand. Pah!

Consequences of Ditching Last leg of an Itinerary

"How much cheaper is this fare ?" Less than half the fare from Sydney to Toronto, and closer to a third. I don't have the problem taking the last flight. It's the folks who wouldn't be interested in visiting Fiji a second time. How long ago? Did Qantas/Air New Zealand give you the strap?

Consequences of Ditching Last leg of an Itinerary

To avoid any confusion, my family intend to end our trip in Sydney (home) and not go back to Fiji a second time. (There is some chance I, individually, may do so myself.)

Consequences of Ditching Last leg of an Itinerary

I am thinking of booking this "hacked" itinerary in business class for my family: NAN-SYD-HKG-YYZ-HKG-SYD-NAN The NAN-SYD-NAN legs are operated by Qantas All other legs are operated by CX. The last arrival in SYD is technically a "stopover" of several months. If you finish in Sydney and then...

    Greenland expedition cruise August 2025

I might take the Arctic Umiaq line public ferry up north. I'm stingy and poor at the same time. Qualities that are great for Greenland!

    Greenland expedition cruise August 2025

I have been to Iceland and the Faroes but not Greenland. I am thinking about flying from Reykjavik to Nuuk for a week in July next year.

Changing QFF anniversary / review months?

I don't mind voiding lifetime status as I am unlikely to ever get to even Lifetime Silver before dying of old age.

Changing QFF anniversary / review months?

I'm going to Canada with my family via Fiji / HKG in July of 2027 and we are all flying in J so we will earn a minimum of 620 SCs with QFF if we choose. My anniversary date for QFF is September 30, so I am wondering if I could change my anniversary date to June by closing my account and then...

Strategies for cheap business/premium flights to North America

We are likely going to go via FIJI for our next trip to North America. NAN-HKG-YYZ - return in business earns ~ 600 SCs, 30k+ miles and potentially less than $5k But what to see in Fiji?

    2027 Northern Summer family trip

T'way does fly to Sydney with their "business saver" angle flat bed, for about $1600 one way. But the reviews are not good. My folks are in their late 70s and are quite fit for their age (probably in the top quarter but they are not masters athletes). My dad lived and worked in Vancouver for a...

    2027 Northern Summer family trip

We will be going from SYD, not MEL. Seems like JQ J to Korea and then ICN-YYZ might be our preferred option. Hopefully my folks can stomach a daytime flight without a flat bed, but I don't know about the way back. We want to do a 1 week stopover in Asia (probably Korea and Jeju, as my mum and...

    2027 Northern Summer family trip

There is not really a set budget, rather than we are trying to get the best value. An Asian airline is preferred.

    2027 Northern Summer family trip

Dear people, My mum and dad are trying to get me to organise a trip for the 3 of us to Eastern Canada (Maritimes) via Asia in summer (June to August) 2027. We plan to be away for maybe 5-6 weeks in total. My parents will only travel in J and we will be buying cash fares. I went to the...

Yes, I booked through VFF. It was one of the best lounges and best flights ever in business class.
