    Jetstar B787 Reliability Issues

Few cancellations popping up. Looks like 1 stuck in BNE and 2 in Melbourne.

    Jetstar adds Melbourne - Colombo

They said more medium term so I am thinking more 2030. Unknown what state the country will be in, however I can’t see the prices in Vegas dropping, it’s all double to triple pre pandemic. Long Haul low cost isn’t really a proven model, they would be facing 14-16 hrs westbound, the low cost base...

    Qantas adds OOL-AKL and SYD-AKL-APW

Virgin could run this seasonal in peak with a MAX.

    Virgin resumes Sydney-Darwin direct flights

I recall the Minns government has an incentive scheme out currently for interstate new domestic routes.

    Qantas adds OOL-AKL and SYD-AKL-APW

I’ve been told they have been using the non IFE 737s across the Tasman lately. Is that correct? I thought they had a specific rego back that they used for these flights like Virgin do under VAI.

    Virgin CNS-MEL redeye

    Qantas adds OOL-AKL and SYD-AKL-APW

Fairly sure Virgin operated the AKL-APW route prior to collapse and it didn’t return I assume these are operated by Jetconnect.

    Jetstar adds Melbourne - Colombo

With the doubling of the Business Cabin, let’s remain hopeful that pricing in that cabin may get more attractive, especially last minute upgrades if the cabins are had empty.

Changing seats T mins to Departure?

Don’t normally and up on QF but have been recently. What’s the story with changing seats in the app after checkin? Is there a set time they cut it off? I found I could switch seats like 45-60 mins prior to departure in the app which was an easier way to secure a few seats vs paying the...

    Jetstar outage

Anyone know which ports are definitely weighing hand baggage and which are not? I’ve been weighed at MEL/SYD/CNS. I’ve noted the morning bank from Melbourne they have a team that go gate to gate. She told me the max over weight is 8kg they will let you off with or anything in the 7s essentially.

QF105 MEL HNL March 2026 cancelled

What once was a very popular destination last decade has certainly fallen off a cliff. Some of those loads are pretty poor looking at other months also. It’s become a very pricey destination now, with all the extra low cost capacity from Australia into Bali, Pacific and Asia, it seems like the...

Qatar Airways returns to Canberra in December 2025

If they get extra bilaterals down the track the will drop Canberra like a hot potato.

Jetstar begins flights between Hobart and Newcastle.

Pretty thin route, seat maps are a little light on, definitely a Bonza like route. I think NTL-ADL would have been better. I think the Minns Government had an incentive scheme out funding some new routes however.

    Sri Lankan Airlines Delays/ Cancellations

Stay away from this carrier, Google News has some interesting stories and it just feels like it’s probably one to stay away from, schedule reasons and safety also.

    Air India B787 crash Ahmedabad

I don’t think many would be surprised by this. We haven’t seen great transparency in many accidents in recent times, the 737 that went down in China, the 737 in Korea, and I wouldn’t expect too many details forthcoming with the 747 that went off the runway in Hong Kong. How any court can rule...
