Changes to ANZ Platinum/Black Travel Insurance

We requested the new Policy book and were sent it by email today. Cardholder takes statins, needs to fill in a form and pay $75 to check he wil be covered as a pre existing condition. Can accept that change. But this paragraph seems odd “ This international travel insurance does not cover any...

    Apple Airtags

I think that’s only the holders, not the air tags themselves 😳

    Neck Pillows

It’s actually for a family member in NZ and that’s where I’m headed Sunday so it would be win win. ☺️

    Neck Pillows

Brilliant thanks for this info. I’ll check at the weekend if they’re still sold at the airport.

    Apple Airtags

Pity I missed these. Best price seems $145 for 4 at Woolworths.

Any updates on neck pillows you love? Or would say don’t buy? Asking for a friend doing a big trip in economy soon.

    Traffic infringement in Spain

No the €40 is just the car company charge for supplying our details. We’ve paid that. The fine is €100 but if we’d received it inside 20 days, it was reduced by 50%. As I said, we will pay if we need to, it’s nothing compared to what we spent over 7 weeks of travel 🤣

    Traffic infringement in Spain

Yes we’ve sucked up the car company charge. It’s obvious from the photo they sent that we must have been a little faster than allowed. But will wait and see if anything comes from the police or traffic dept.

    Traffic infringement in Spain

We haven’t actually received the official letter, just a copy from the car company. So far they’ve deducted €40 admin fee. Will keep an eye out in case they also pay the €100 fine. Would be a bit cross as there’s a 50% reduction if you pay in 20 days. Of course it’s closer to 50 days and we only...

    Traffic infringement in Spain

That’s what I’m anticipating really. We get so little mail that it will be a shock to find an envelope in our mailbox!

    Traffic infringement in Spain

We’ve been charged €40 by car company and we don’t mind paying really. They’ve provided photo evidence! Autoeurope, who we usually rent through, have been very efficient in chasing it up. Will see how long it takes for mail to reach the outback!

    Traffic infringement in Spain

Gosh yes and now the mail deliveries are being reduced even further, could be a long wait 😂

    Traffic infringement in Spain

Asking for a friend, clearly….. at what point would you pay a fine for exceeding speed limit by 17kph? Hire car company added €40 to the bill, queried and now have a copy of a speeding fine. The plan is to wait for Spanish authorities to send the fine.

    Flight diverted, who pays hotel?

When my sister got ill in Bali and I flew over to give her my blood (no blood bank there), the airline refused to allow her to fly home without a dr saying it was safe. We had always said the same, we would just fly home but after a few family mishaps, know it’s easier said than done. So hard...

    Flight diverted, who pays hotel?

Is that $1000 each? We still rely on credit card insurance so have no idea of other costs. It worked brilliantly for us after an accident in Peru…. awhile back.

    Good news regarding luggage

Maybe….i wrote one after our Japan trip at Christmas and it’s good for my own records as well as possibly being of interest to others. Good job for a rainy day except I live where it doesn’t rain. 😀

    Good news regarding luggage

After 7 weeks and multiple airlines, it’s marvellous to be able to report that at no stage were we separated from our luggage. The AirTags were a back up and I’d still recommend them. Airlines we used were: Qantas, American, United, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Jet2. All in all, a most enjoyable trip...

    Flight diverted, who pays hotel?

UPDATE: Our friends have been offered 5000 FF points from Qantas, no reimbursement for the hotel. A staff member was on the ground when they landed at Wellington airport, verbally said they could claim up to $250 for the room. The friends were directed to Rydges, queued up and accessed a room...

    Flight diverted, who pays hotel?

The travellers were Australians flying to Christchurch but had to pay a night in Wellington. Just clarifying that it wasn’t a domestic flight. I’ll report back when they get a response from Qantas.
